About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Sourcing Consultant.


In this role, you will:

  • Advise leadership to develop and manage spend categories and strategies

  • Lead contract negotiations for complex products or services, and suppliers

  • Lead the strategy related to sourcing and contracting activities and expense reduction initiatives

  • Deliver solutions that are long-term, large scale and accountable for category savings for multiple categories and supplier performance measurements

  • Improve category effectiveness and efficiencies

  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership

  • Lead structured evaluation of supplier industry, economics, and market conditions

  • Define and approve spend categories to determine optimal sequencing, definition, and parameters of commodities

  • Manage categories or select groups of vendors from a life cycle perspective with a focus on reducing cost, and increasing overall value of suppliers

  • Engage as a trained advisor to determine the long-term needs and applicable supply and service strategies

  • Act as the primary liaison for current and potential suppliers

  • Resolve systemic and recurring supplier and customer issues

  • Train, lead and mentor less experienced staff


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Sourcing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities for assigned categories (IT, Professional Services, Staffing, or Technology Vendors).
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and vendor consolidation initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business and functional leaders, translating requirements into effective sourcing solutions.
  • Manage RFP/RFQ/RFI processes, including supplier evaluation, negotiations, and commercial finalization.
  • Drive contract execution in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and Procurement teams.
  • Oversee vendor performance, compliance, SLAs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior sourcing team members.
  • Ensure adherence to sourcing policies, approval frameworks, and audit requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, risk mitigation, and supplier innovation.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Line of Business (LOB), Technology, HR, and Finance leadership.
  • Engage with strategic suppliers and preferred partners to build long‑term value.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams on contractual and regulatory matters.
