About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Risk Analytics Consultant (Executive Director) in its Consumer Banking & Lending - Cards and Personal Loans business. This is a senior level individual contributor role in the Decision Science area, spanning credit bureau attribute management and insights, consumer credit risk insights, and advancing AI driven use cases within existing analytics processes towards modernization and efficiency gains.

The ideal candidate will be able to work with US and India stakeholders towards achieving personal deliverables as well as use prior industry experience to provide thought leadership, guidance to junior colleagues on project management basis, and advance the Decision Science capabilities for CBL-CPL.


In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to experienced leadership to develop, influence, and interpret analysis for monitoring and oversight of portfolio and deliver insight and decision strategies, with long term goals for highly complex business analysis and modeling companywide
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring strategic, advanced analytical, inductive thinking, and performance monitoring
  • Extract data to provide statistical and financial modeling companywide, delivering solutions that are long term, large scale, and require vision, innovation, and coordination of highly complex activities and guidance to others
  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to experienced leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions that are large-scale, companywide strategies
  • Engage with all levels of professionals and managers companywide
  • Act as an expert advisor to experienced leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of overall experience in Analytics domain, with 7+ years’ experience in Consumer Banking products such as Credit Cards, Personal Loans for any of the industry standard job families such as : Risk Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science
  • Post graduation / Graduation degree in a quantitative field such as engineering, technology, mathematics, economics, or computer sciences
  • 7+ years of credit risk experience in consumer / unsecured lending in any lifecycle such as Acquisition / Account Management/ Collections and Recoveries strategy development
  • Prior experience of people management shall be considered a plus
  • SME level knowledge of typical underwriting and risk management frameworks, along with a fair understanding of associated credit policies and procedures
  • Hands-on experience of working with credit bureau data in developed countries towards usage in credit strategies, decision models and insights
  • Technical competency in industry standard tools and platforms towards data management, data analysis and data visualization : SAS / Python , Tableau / Power BI / MicroStrategy / Excel
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
  • Demonstrates strong negotiation, communication & presentation skills with high degree of reliability, integrity and trustworthiness and should contribute to strategic decisions and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment having ability to lead project teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • Operates with a sense of urgency, particularly towards deadlines, audit and external commitments

Job Expectations:

  • Own deliverables: Accountability for analytics solution development, including ideation, business case, framework development, governance, and execution. Lead the adoption of enhanced and alternative data sources (e.g., Trended Bureau) and associated data mining to support strategic decisioning
  • Project management and oversight: Collaborate extensively with Business, Risk, Finance, Marketing, Modeling and Operations teams on critical initiatives, offering inputs as well as challenge as needed
  • Governance / Risk & Control: Ensure strict adherence to established controls, policies, and procedures. Proactively identify process gaps and recommend enhancements to improve operational efficiency and risk management. Lead the development of effective monitoring tools and reports grounded in a deep understanding of P&L and key business drivers
  • People & talent development: Mentor junior team members, fostering their development in analytics; drive project management for wider team
  • Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, drive for results, attention to quality and detail, and a synergetic attitude
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective, well-articulated, written, and oral communications (e.g., emails, presentation materials) applying appropriate level of content/ detail dependent upon audience and intent
  • Experience as a highly effective leader with credibility from demonstrating strong business and technology acumen
