About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Banking Portfolio Management Manager


In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop a team of individuals with low to moderate work complexity and risk in Commercial Banking Portfolio Management functional area
  • Ensure credit execution is consistent and aligned with required credit policies and processes
  • Support and drive adoption of new credit policies and related changes across the team
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development in the Commercial Banking Portfolio Management functional area
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives, and operations of functional area and team to meet business objectives
  • Interpret and develop credit policies and procedures
  • Support in execution of policy changes
  • Collaborate and consult with Commercial Banking Portfolio Management peers, colleagues, and more experienced managers
  • Coach and develop credit team
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Commercial Banking Portfolio Management
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 8 to 12 credit analysts supporting Portfolio Monitoring activities like annual reviews and other credit assessment processes.
  • Should possess good domain knowledge of commercial banking products and if required trained the team to ensure the work is delivered with high quality standards.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal stakeholders and onshore team to ensure the smooth running of the existing business.
  • Responsible for leading the transition and seamlessly setting up the business. Interact and/or negotiate with senior management in WF and WF I&P.
  • Contribute for team expansion, talent hiring and training to meet the expectations.
  • Responsible for creating and monitoring business goals for team that align to Enterprise goals (including LoB expectations).
  • Responsible for Operational Excellence, process improvement and redesign – proactively identify, analyse, and improve existing processes / process re-engineering.
  • Responsible for team member engagement and career development.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews with key functional stakeholders regarding overall business performance. Look beyond SLA metrics and focus on business metrics.
  • Need to manage multiple teams working across different shift timings.
  • Conduct regular meetings with team members to discuss about issues, concerns, and updates pertaining to People, Process and Partners.
  • Establish early warning mechanism through robust risk and opportunities process. Challenge identifying gaps, recommending gap closing.
  • Make sure team is always ready to meet the audit requirement and actively work to increase risk awareness across all team members.

Minimum Requirements

  • Post-Graduation in Finance / Management / Charted Accountant or equivalent
  • Minimum experience of 7 years and people management experience of minimum 1 year.
  • Strong data-based decision making and communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge in MS Office.
  • Flexible to work across I&P locations & shift timings (preferable).
  • Certification in Campus MBA, Six Sigma are added advantages.

  • Vendor and Technology Evaluation: Assess AI tools and platforms for suitability, scalability, and alignment with Wells Fargo’s enterprise standards.
