Vice President, eSPG Product Manager

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Product Manager for Electronic Trading within the Structured Product Groups (SPG). SPG provides asset backed lending, capital markets, financing, secondary trading liquidity and sales distribution to institutional clients. This role will work closely with Trading, Sales, Technology, Risk, and to enhance how SPG products are supported through electronic trading capabilities.

The Product Manager will be responsible for advancing electronic trading across a broad and diverse product set, including the electronification of trading workflows, the thoughtful application of automation and algorithms, and the use of data to improve trading outcomes. The role focuses on ensuring electronic trading capabilities evolve in a way that reflects real trading behavior, market structure, and risk considerations.

This is a senior product role with ownership of a consolidated electronic trading Book of Work. The position requires strong front‑office engagement, sound judgment, and the ability to balance scale, control, and discretion in complex markets.


In this role, you will:

  • Own and prioritize the electronic trading Book of Work across SPG products.
  • Work closely with Trading to support the electronification of trading activity where appropriate, including pricing, inquiry handling, execution workflows, and lifecycle processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and algorithmic support that improve scale, consistency, or insight, while avoiding over‑automation in areas requiring judgment or negotiation.
  • Partner with Sales to ensure electronic trading capabilities support client interaction and adoption.
  • Work with Technology to translate trading needs into clear functional requirements and delivery priorities.
  • Maintain awareness of market structure, execution protocols, and how they differ across products and market conditions.
  • Support alignment with Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure electronic trading activity operates within governance and control expectations.
  • Ensure trading activity supported electronically produces structured, usable data for visibility and analysis.
  • Lead and support initiatives that enhance electronic trading capability across SPG.
  • Partner with Trading and Sales to understand how products are priced, negotiated, and traded in practice.
  • Help shape how automation, algorithms, and electronic workflows are applied in SPG markets.
  • Review and analyze complex trading workflows and identify areas for improvement through electronification.
  • Ensure electronic trading initiatives are delivered in alignment with risk management, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with peers, technology partners, and control functions to resolve issues and advance priorities.
  • Stay informed on industry trends related to electronic trading, market structure, and trading technology.
  • Serve as a key product contact for electronic trading across SPG.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Securities Product Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in product management, trading, or trading‑related technology in structured products, fixed income, or other complex markets.
  • Strong understanding of front‑office trading workflows, including pricing, execution, and risk considerations.
  • Experience working directly with Trading and Sales teams.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large, complex Book of Work.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort operating in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience with electronic trading workflows, including inquiry‑driven or RFQ‑based models.
  • Familiarity with electronifying trading activity, including the use of automation and algorithms in less‑liquid markets.
  • Exposure to trading data, analytics, or performance monitoring in a front‑office context.
  • Understanding of market structure and execution protocol differences across asset classes.
  • Experience partnering with Risk, Compliance, or Operations on trading‑related initiatives.

  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$159,000.00 - $305,000.00
