About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Risk Analytics consultant


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives related to business analysis and modeling, including those that are cross functional, with broad impact, and act as key participant in data aggregation, monitoring, and reporting of stress testing and portfolio analysis for Risk Analytics

  • Review and analyze complex programing models to extract data and manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling specific to businesses supported

  • Manage the roll out of pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models for supported businesses and product line

  • Make decisions in complex product strategies, data modeling, and risk exposure, requiring solid understanding of business unit projects and regulatory responses, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead Analytic and Reporting to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, less experienced to more experienced managers, to resolve production, project, and regulatory issues, and achieve risk analysts, and common modeling goals

  • Lead projects, teams, and mentor


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Job Expectation 

  • Daily P&L Production & Controls: Produce and validate timely and accurate daily P&L and related general ledger reconciliations for the firm’s trading activities. Support both Comprehensive P&L and Clean P&L production and ensure completion of defined controls and checks. 
  • Issue Investigation & Resolution: Research and resolve P&L issues arising from incorrect trade bookings, system errors, and valuation discrepancies. Perform root-cause analysis, document findings, and partner with technology, risk, and front office teams to drive remediation. 
  • Month-End Close & Balance Sheet Substantiation: Support month-end close activities for P&L and perform detailed balance sheet substantiation in line with established policies, procedures, and control standards. 
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Work closely with Front Office, Middle Office, Market and Credit Risk, and Group Controllers to resolve breaks, explain drivers, and ensure accurate reporting. Escalate issues in a timely manner with clear analysis and recommended next steps. 
  • Audit & Regulatory Support: Prepare supporting materials for internal/external audit examinations and regulatory queries. Ensure evidence is complete, accurate, and aligned to documented controls (e.g., COSO) and team procedures. 
  • Process & Control Improvement: Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, streamline reconciliations, and improve reporting quality. Contribute to automation and standardization initiatives by partnering with the wider Product Control and technology teams. 
  • Management Reporting & Commentary: Prepare weekly/monthly management reports and financial highlights (including relevant metrics). Provide clear commentary on key P&L and balance sheet drivers and variances. 
  • Product, Entity & Risk Understanding: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the legal entities on which trading occurs, relevant product features (including structured/exotic derivatives where applicable), and key risk measures used to explain P&L movements.

  • Experience in strategic process improvement and change management. 
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to drive team performance and stakeholder engagement. 
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, agility, and ability to perform under pressure. 
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across teams and communicate issues, analysis, and outcomes clearly. 
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access), SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI. 
  • Deep understanding of Macro, XVA, Structured Products and risk measures, with experience supporting Trading and Structured Products businesses.
