Payments Lead Business Systems Consultant

About the Role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Payments Lead Business Systems Consultant to join the Payments Technology organization. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering high-impact initiatives by partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders. You will help translate complex business needs into scalable, enterprise-grade solutions while leading Agile Scrum practices to support strategic payments and technology modernization efforts across the firm.

In this role, you will:

  • Facilitate the scrum process with cross functional impact that involve moderately complex projects, non-projects, or maintenance work

  • Guide scrum teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices to actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each sprint

  • Optimize scrum team velocity to identify improvement opportunities and enhance team performance

  • Deliver capabilities using Agile practices while following SDLC, business process mapping, and release processes to ensure risk, security, and development requirements are met

  • Partner with discipline managers on governance policies and adherence to corporate standards

  • Facilitate Scrum Agile ceremonies

  • Collaborate with product owners, program or project managers to communicate delivery and escalate risks/issues

  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

  • Interact with internal customers

  • Exercise independent judgment while ensuring alignment with policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

  • Facilitate all Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective) ensuring they are outcome-focused

  • Remove impediments and actively manage dependencies and risks impacting delivery

  • Coach teams to be self-organizing, cross-functional, and high-performing

  • Partner closely with Product Owners to maintain a well-prioritized and refined backlog

  • Drive continuous improvement through data-driven retrospectives and actionable follow-ups

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Business Systems Data and Business Systems Design experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of Agile Scrum Master experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and perform in a dynamic, complex environment

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Knowledge and understanding of technology operations

  • Prior experience leading scrum teams in a matrixed environment

  • Experience with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, etc.

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or similar certification

  • Strong communication skills with ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical partners

  • Experience working in a large-scale enterprise environment

  • Banking or Financial Services experience
