CIB Chief Operating Office (COO) supports the business seamlessly across all geographic regions by delivering platforms, processes and systems across a wide range of disciplines. This includes business management, strategy & innovation, data transformation, client lifecycle management, and risk management.  COOs also align to each business to bring synergy, consistency, and transparency of COO functions specific to each line of business.

About this role:

Fixed Income Capital Markets within CIB has product origination-focused teams who focus on Investment Grade and Leveraged Finance debt products and also work closely with other key business units including our Coverage and Risk and Controls partners that are important partners to these businesses. 

The FICM business is supported by a COO team which works directly with business leaders and support partners across the organization and serves as a trusted advisor in establishing business priorities, partnering with the broader Wells Fargo and CIB organization.  The team also ensures optimal efficiency of all aspects of the FICM business. This role will play a critical role in the implementation of the overall CIB vision, strategy, and the planning and facilitation of supporting initiatives.  This role is hybrid with some in office expectation.  Learn more about our career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.

The COO Associate position will support FICM in executing business and client priorities, partnering with the broader Wells Fargo organization, and running the day-to-day operations of the business. The COO Associate will collaborate with the Capital Markets COOs, Leveraged Finance Group Heads and Investment Grade DCM Group Head to execute on activities including but not limited to:

  • Strategic business planning, routine pipeline reporting and analysis of deals done away
  • Supporting Group Head Executive, COO, and other business leaders in initiative tracking, project execution, and banker scorecards
  • Supporting Corporate Investment Bank wide initiatives, projects, and assisting in development of strategic plans
  • Project management, data analysis, integrating financials into streamlined executive presentations
  • Supporting operational processes and participating in regulatory compliance activities such as internal audits
  • Ability to learn key systems including Salesforce & internal financial reporting systems   
  • Partnering with Chief Operating Office to ensure consistent communication with banking teams
  • Preparing product level reporting and data analysis including analyzing 3rd party data providers like Dealogic for fee competitor benchmarking
  • Maintaining data integrity and pipeline management
  • Assisting with regular recurring origination and pipeline meetings including preparation of executive level presentations materials
  • Leveraging CRM tools and data outputs to interpret and analyze performance by sector and banker


In this role, you will:

  • Lead support functions or operations for multiple business groups and contribute to large scale strategic initiatives
  • Ensure efficiency, quality, cost effectiveness of solutions, and pipeline management relating to assigned operations
  • Research moderately complex business, operational, and strategic initiatives that require analytical skills, basic knowledge of organizational strategy and Business Execution, and understanding of international business
  • Work independently to make recommendations for support function by providing support and leadership
  • Assist in the planning and execution of a variety of programs and initiatives that may include risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer experience
  • Collaborate and consult with team leaders in developing project plans, policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership in management of relationships and implementation of programs, services, and initiatives with cross functional business partners


 

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Corporate & Investment Banking experience    
  • Strategy, financial, and/or analytics experience
  • Experience with customer relationship management systems (CRMs) including Salesforce and market data vendors like Dealogic, Factset, Moody’s, S&P, etc…
  • Experience in financial analysis including company assessment (leverage, working capital, etc), global market awareness and internal client/LOB financial performance analysis
  • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and propose solutions to various levels of staff and executive management
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills for executive presentations
  • Experience in problem analysis, solution implementation, and change management
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Experience with AI and workflow tools that reduce manual tasks through increased automation

Salary Range:

Charlotte, NC: $87K - $140K  USD Annual

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$87,000.00 - $140,000.00
