About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Analyst to join their Structured Products Group (SPG) Banking function within the Mortgage Finance Group (MFG) Structuring & Analytics team.
MFG provides financing and capital markets solutions to entities that own, originate, or service residential real estate loans and related assets. The Structuring & Analytics team within the MFG is responsible for the front-office analytical aspects of the business including structuring RMBS transactions, underwriting collateral credit, advising clients on asset disposition strategies, valuing mortgage assets, tracking market conditions, managing portfolio risks and presenting performance metrics to management. This is for a 1st year analyst role in our Early Careers Program.
In this role, you will:
Assist in the marketing, origination, execution and portfolio management of lending facilities and capital markets transactions
Work as part of a client coverage team in creating marketing materials for securitizations and handling investor requests
Develop rating agency correspondence, term sheets, underwriting memos, as well as examining legal documentation
Support senior bankers on the deal team, through active involvement in all aspects of the deal origination and execution process
Closely partner with various constituencies across Wells Fargo, including Credit Risk, Sales and Trading, Syndicate, Investment Banking Coverage, Corporate Banking Coverage, DCM, Leveraged Finance, Compliance, and Legal
Manage the flow of mortgage collateral data including mapping data fields, generating reports, running models, producing valuations and interpreting results
Monitor market conditions and collateral performance, reporting key metrics and contributing to risk discussions with internal partners
Utilize technical and market knowledge to provide insights on mortgage-related assets for various purposes including financing arrangements, RMBS structures and client advisory activities
Required Qualifications:
6+ months of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
6+ months prior Investment Banking or Analyst Training Program experience, prior experience in structured products and/or capital markets through work experience/internships, training, or education a plus
Fundamental understanding of capital markets and mortgage banking
Prior experience in or related to securitization is a plus
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Python coding experience with working knowledge of standard data analytics libraries (e.g. Pandas and NumPy)
Proficiency with coding languages, databases and visualization tools (i.e. SAS, SQL, and PowerBI)
Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Dedication to building a career in the financial services industry

Proven ability to take on significant responsibility with a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results
