About this role:


Wells Fargo is seeking a Fraud and Claims Operations Director.

In this role, you will:
•    Manage and develop specialized teams of managers and professional individual contributors with a focus on executing risk-based fraud and claims program
•    Identify, formulate, and implement risk policies, procedures, and controls for the respective business or enterprise functions associated or affected by its outcomes
•    Identify opportunities and strategies for formulating and implementing risk policies, procedures, and controls for business or enterprise function
•    Address issues and maintain an awareness of fraud and claims activity across the company
•    Lead fraud and claims team by making strategic decisions to resolve reporting of fraud and claims activities
•    Interpret and develop range of procedures, controls, and trend data in order to ensure proactive identification of fraud and claims activity
•    Collaborate with and influence immediate fraud and claims colleagues as well as more experienced business leaders
•    Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Fraud and Claims Operations
•    Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Required Qualifications:
•    10+ years of Fraud Claim Investigation or Policy Violations, Risk Management, or Compliance experience, including Management or leadership experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
•    4+ years of management or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:
o    Fraud Claims Investigation, Policy Violations, Risk Management, Compliance, or related control functions, preferably within financial services, banking, fintech, or regulated industries.
o    Demonstrated people management experience, including leading investigators, analysts, or risk/compliance teams, with accountability for performance, quality, and outcomes.
o    Strong working knowledge of fraud typologies, investigation methodologies, control frameworks, and regulatory expectations related to fraud prevention and claims management.
o    Experience applying policies, procedures, and governance standards to complex or high risk cases while exercising sound judgment and decision making.
o    Proven ability to partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Business stakeholders to resolve issues and drive remediation.

Job Expectations:  
o    Lead and oversee fraud claims investigations and policy violation reviews, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant case resolution.
o    Provide day to day management and coaching to investigation or risk teams, driving consistent execution, quality standards, and employee development.
o    Ensure adherence to enterprise policies, regulatory requirements, and internal control standards, escalating material risks and issues as appropriate.
o    Review complex, high impact, or sensitive cases, applying strong risk judgment and investigative rigor.
o    Identify trends, root causes, and control gaps; recommend process improvements, corrective actions, and risk mitigation strategies.
o    Partner closely with cross functional teams to support risk governance, audits, regulatory exams, and management reporting.
o    Foster a strong risk culture by promoting accountability, ethical conduct, and continuous improvement across the team.
