Vice President, CIB Strategic Vendor Management Lead – Markets

Wells Fargo is seeking a Strategic Vendor Management Lead to serve as a strategic partner between CIB Markets stakeholders and enterprise Supply Chain Management (SCM), driving vendor relationship optimization, governance compliance, and timely execution of complex SCM tasks. In this role, you will:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as primary liaison for CIB Markets stakeholders in enterprise and Third Party activities; summarize portfolio performance, influence senior stakeholders and present insights
  • Enterprise Interface / “Single Front Door” for Markets: Provide a consistent engagement model between CIB Markets and Enterprise Supply Chain Management (SCM), supporting intake/triage, demand review, sourcing execution, invoicing coordination, third-party risk activities, and reporting. Ensure Markets leaders’ have clear visibility, ownership, and escalation paths
  • Spend Analysis: Identify cost-saving opportunities, perform variance analysis, and support budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • SCM Task Ownership: Oversee completion of Inherent Risk Questionnaires, compliance assessments, and remediation activities
  • Vendor Portfolio Governance: Lead recurring vendor portfolio reviews; ensure SLA adherence and performance optimization
  • Markets’ Non-Traditional Populations: Strengthen the approach for Markets’ non-traditional populations, including Broker/Dealer engagement considerations, aligning execution to applicable controls and regulatory expectations.
  • Risk & Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and contractual compliance; proactively surface emerging risks, track remediation, and coordinate stakeholder decisions and escalations.
  • Process Optimization: Drive automation initiatives and leverage procurement tools for efficiency (e.g., Ariba, ProcessUnity), improving cycle times, transparency, and data quality across the Markets portfolio.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a Markets organization (sell-side or buy-side) with strong understanding of the front-to-back trading lifecycle and how vendor services impact trading, risk, operations, and controls.
  • Ability to engage and influence senior Markets stakeholders (Trading, Sales, Quants, COO, Ops, Technology, Risk/Compliance), translate business needs into execution steps, and communicate clearly under time pressure.
  • Strong communication, executive interaction and presentation skills
  • Robust experience in Third Party Risk Management
  • Analytical mindset with experience in SLA governance and vendor management
  • Ability to synthesize portfolio data into actionable insights
  • Basic financial acumen for cost analysis and business case development
  • Advanced stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with supply chain management / third party risk frameworks, compliance standards, and procurement tools (Ariba, ProcessUnity)
