Commercial Real Estate (CRE) delivers a comprehensive platform of financing and banking products for experienced commercial real estate clients, including balance sheet lending, CMBS origination and distribution, loan warehousing, agency financing for multifamily properties, and debt and equity capital for affordable housing.

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lending Operations Manager to support our Commercial and Investment Banking team within our Commercial Real Estate (CRE) division. This individual will be responsible for managing a team that handles a variety of pre-close and post-close activities for a range of moderate to complex secured and unsecured real estate credit facilities and other development loans. In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop the Lending Operations Capital Markets Document Negotiation team responsible for documentation support, execution, and related pre-close and post-close activities across applicable product lines

  • Oversee the preparation, negotiation, execution, and tracking of legal documentation and related processes to support business objectives and client needs

  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and address challenges within the functional area

  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with the Lending Operations functional area

  • Support documentation needs across multiple products and work closely with Front Office, Legal, Credit, Operations, and other business partners

  • Determine appropriate team actions and priorities to execute documentation-related processes and meet business deliverables

  • Oversee adherence to compliance standards, supervisory requirements, and internal policies and procedures

  • Collaborate with peers and partners on complex documentation matters to support timely execution and mitigate transaction, legal, operational, and credit risk

  • Partner with management in the development and administration of policies and procedures that govern documentation and operational processes

  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to support documentation processes and client service needs

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for the Lending Operations Capital Markets Document Negotiation team to support business priorities and deliverables

  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Transactions and Processing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 2+ years of Leadership experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of lending products and loan lifecycles, including industry best practices, credit agreements, loan funding mechanics, deal structures, and funds flows; prior deal team experience required.

  • Experience managing and overseeing complex transactions and clients, including working directly with clients to collect and review loan and due diligence documentation ahead of closing large transactions.

  • Process and execution-oriented, with the ability to lead end-to-end transaction management while building strong client and internal relationships.

  • Proven track record of prioritizing work and proactively identifying and resolving issues under tight deadlines, including providing real-time status updates in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and senior management across and within lines of business, with strong attention to detail, analytical capability, and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to influence change, drive process improvements, and provide strategic direction while maintaining focus on execution.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions, stakeholders, and competing priorities while maintaining a broader view of team objectives.

  • Loan document negotiation experience required; legal background preferred.

  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop junior team members on various aspects of the Transaction Manager function and best practices.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to manage fluctuating deal flow volumes and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment, including flexibility to support extended hours as needed.

  • Ability to work across all organizational levels, demonstrating flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo's total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo's employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

$77,000.00 - $145,000.00
