About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer
In this role, you will:
Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience on software development including full life cycle development SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) and understanding of application development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- 10+ years of experience in Java 8/17+, spring boot, REST, Micro Services development, Kafka, react/angular
- 2+ years of experience in Nosql ( MongoDB) and RDMS (Oracle, MySql)
- Should possess strong analytical, interpersonal skills and trouble shooting skills in resolving technical problems.
- Good knowledge on Kafka, MQs. Good to have experience in K8S/Openshift.
- Experience in design patterns, architecture guidelines, testing frameworks, engineering practices like Performance testing, Automation, Chaos testing, Resiliency, etc
- Very good at CICD pipelines for On-premises and Cloud infra like Jenkins, Urbancode, Harness, etc.
- Ability to work to deadlines both independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to assess issues, make quick decisions, implement solutions, and influence change
- Demonstrate ability to interact effectively with a variety of contacts including mid-level managers
Job Expectations:
- Responsible for building and delivery of software solutions for Payments Technology platform using Java Fullstack Microservice based designs.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployment support.
- Should be able to work on Java 17+, Springboot, Kafka, NoSql DB like Mongo.
- Resolve moderately complex issues and collaborate within/across teams to meet business needs.
- Responsible for performance tuning, scalability, resiliency improvements in projects
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
- Must have the ability to relate to both business and technical members of the team and possess excellent communication skills.

- Take proactive approach to anticipate issues and provide solutions
- Show willingness to learn, grow and share the knowledge as needed
- Translates business concepts to technical implementations to drive alignment and decision making
- Researching and evaluation of new tools and technologies to solve business problems.
