Business Execution Sr. Manager -- Underwriting

Wells Fargo is seeking a strategic leader to serve as a primary business driver for medium- and large-scale initiatives across the Underwriting organization. This role will lead efforts that improve process performance, modernize legacy systems and capabilities, and resolve complex operational issues that matter to the business. As part of Wells Fargo Auto Finance—supported by a nationwide network of nearly 13,000 dealerships and backed by more than 50 years of auto financing experience—this leader will help shape priorities within a large Originations organization and deliver meaningful change at scale.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with senior leaders across Underwriting, Originations, Risk, Operations, and business teams to shape priorities, influence outcomes, and secure alignment on strategic objectives.
  • Lead and develop a team of Business Execution professionals while driving alignment, pace, and delivery across high-priority, complex initiatives.
  • Drive modernization efforts that simplify processes, strengthen operating discipline, and improve the scalability and effectiveness of underwriting capabilities.
  • Provide leadership visibility through strong executive communication, concise updates, and data-driven recommendations that support informed decision-making.
  • Identify and manage risks, remove roadblocks, and lead timely resolution of critical issues with a clear focus on sustainable outcomes.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional execution for medium- and large-scale initiatives, ensuring clear ownership, disciplined follow-through, and measurable results.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable plans, decision frameworks, and execution roadmaps that accelerate progress and improve performance.
  • Promote a high-performing culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, talent development, and strong partnership across teams.
  • Deliver results on high-priority initiatives with urgency, ownership, and strong execution discipline.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in identifying risks, escalating issues, and driving timely decisions and resolution.
  • Build alignment across stakeholders and influence action in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Prioritize effectively, adapt quickly, and maintain momentum in a dynamic and evolving business environment.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and high standards for quality and follow-through.


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years Management or leadership experience

  • Proven ability to lead through complexity, manage multiple priorities, and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset with strong accountability and a bias for action.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear insights, recommendations, and decisions.
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives, business operations, modernization efforts, or large-scale process improvement work.
  • Proven ability to influence across teams and senior stakeholders, build alignment, and drive accountability for results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality, speed, and disciplined execution.
