Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Business Growth Strategy Consultant to join the Global Payments & Liquidity team within Enterprise Functions. This role serves as a trusted advisor to commercial clients, helping them optimize supplier payment strategies, accelerate digital payment adoption, and maximize commercial card and ACH conversion opportunities.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, payment industry expertise, and strong relationship management skills to influence decision-makers, drive measurable business outcomes, and manage a complex portfolio of clients. This individual will proactively identify growth opportunities, develop innovative solutions, streamline processes, and collaborate across internal teams to deliver exceptional client experiences.
In this Role, You Will
Client Strategy & Growth
Serve as a strategic consultant for complex commercial clients, including organizations with multiple business units, divisions, or affiliated entities.
Identify, develop, and manage a robust pipeline of supplier payment optimization opportunities to drive growth and revenue generation.
Partner with clients to evaluate payment practices, supplier segmentation strategies, and conversion opportunities across commercial card, virtual card, and ACH payment channels.
Develop customized digital payment conversion strategies and implementation roadmaps aligned to each client's business objectives.
Present data-driven recommendations and best practices to executive decision-makers and treasury leaders.
Digital Payment Conversion & Supplier Enablement
Lead supplier onboarding and digital payment adoption campaigns for new and existing clients.
Analyze conversion metrics, supplier enrollment performance, and campaign effectiveness to identify opportunities for increased adoption and growth.
Educate clients on WellsOne Virtual Card capabilities, ACH optimization strategies, supplier acceptance opportunities, and emerging payment trends.
Leverage supplier analytics, enrollment data, and industry insights to optimize campaign performance and maximize conversion results.
Collaborate with dedicated supplier enrollment teams, Visa, Mastercard, and internal partners to enhance supplier outreach effectiveness and improve enrollment outcomes.
Relationship Management & Communication
Facilitate client kickoff meetings, strategy sessions, and ongoing business reviews.
Build strong partnerships with Treasury Management Sales, Commercial Card, Product, Operations, and Implementation teams to ensure alignment and execution.
Communicate complex payment strategies clearly and effectively to clients, stakeholders, and executive audiences.
Establish expectations, manage timelines, and maintain proactive communication throughout the client lifecycle.
Influence stakeholders and drive action across multiple internal and external parties to achieve desired outcomes.
Portfolio & Project Management
Manage a large portfolio of concurrent client initiatives while maintaining high service levels and execution quality.
Prioritize competing demands, establish clear action plans, and proactively address risks or performance gaps.
Monitor campaign performance, adjust strategies as needed, and communicate baseline updates and recommendations to clients and internal partners.
Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives focused on automation, process improvement, scalability, and operational excellence.
Share best practices, innovative ideas, and market intelligence to continuously improve team performance and client outcomes.
Risk & Compliance
Educate clients on payment security best practices, including imposter fraud prevention and account takeover risk mitigation.
Ensure all activities comply with Wells Fargo policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
Maintain a strong understanding of applicable operational, compliance, and governance requirements.
Required Qualifications
4+ years of Business Growth Strategy experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting commercial payments, treasury management, commercial card, or payables solutions.
Knowledge of supplier enablement, digital payment conversion, virtual card programs, ACH payments, and payment optimization strategies.
Ability to consult with executive-level decision-makers and influence strategic business outcomes.
Experience managing complex client relationships involving multiple stakeholders, business units, or legal entities.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance metrics, conversion data, and client trends.
Proven ability to manage a large portfolio of clients while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
Experience identifying process improvements, automation opportunities, and scalable solutions.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across matrixed teams.
