The Consumer & Business Lending team is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing strategic initiatives and processes to drive business performance, portfolio health, and customer outcomes. The team is seeking a talented and experienced Lead Analytics Consultant to be part of the Auto Lending team.
The candidate would be part of the Auto Lending Strategy Analytics team and would provide analytical support across a wide array of business processes and lifecycle activities, including but not limited to originations, collections, payments, deferrals, delinquency, servicing, and related operational processes.
The primary role is to apply strong business knowledge and advanced analytical skills to solve business questions, think outside the box, and develop innovative yet practical solutions that enhance portfolio performance and customer outcomes. Responsibilities
- The incumbent would functionally contribute as an SME to the Auto Lending team and execute relatively large and complex projects with moderate to high business impact for the line of business.
- Lead significant initiatives and processes and partner with line-of-business management to drive business performance, operational excellence, and portfolio outcomes with inputs from senior leadership. Advise and counsel leadership.
- Direct and coordinate activities related to assessing and predicting portfolio performance through business analysis and/or modeling. Establish effective processes, controls, and analytical tools to identify opportunities and improve business outcomes. Use advanced analytics for developing future-ready solutions.
- Develop comprehensive monitoring frameworks and dashboards and provide statistically sound diagnostic evaluations of emerging trends and business opportunities to enhance intelligence and facilitate faster decision-making.
- Report on asset quality (delinquency, loss rate), portfolio trends, policy exceptions, and operational performance across various credit, vintage, product, offer, channel, and industry segments using visualization tools such as Excel VBA, Tableau, and/or SAS Visual Analytics.
- Develop quantitative and qualitative tools and methodologies for forecasting portfolio performance, loss expectations, business planning, and new account acquisition strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex programming to extract data and/or manipulate databases such as Oracle and Teradata to support line-of-business strategies. Perform complex data analysis to support data quality and data integrity controls.
- Evaluate new internal and external data sources and attributes through extensive analysis and case reviews. Analyze large datasets and monitor trends to provide actionable insights across a range of portfolio and business analytics initiatives.
- Lead project teams and may mentor, but does not directly manage, other team members.
- To be effective in this position, you will need a strong understanding of consumer lending, portfolio management, business analytics, and operational processes, along with proficiency in key analytical and technical tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Econometrics, or Computer Science.
- 5 years of progressive experience in consumer lending analytics, business analytics, portfolio management, or related analytical roles.
- Hands-on experience in at least one area of consumer lending analytics, including strategy development, forecasting, modeling techniques, data architecture, or data management.
- Detailed understanding of consumer lending products and portfolio performance drivers, with strong analytical skills and understanding of business and financial drivers.
- Expertise in programming and statistical packages such as SAS, SQL, Excel, VBA, Macros, R, Python, Enterprise Miner, Tableau, and SAS Visual Analytics.
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques such as Segmentation, Decision Trees, Clustering, Regression, and Machine Learning methodologies.
- Ability to lead project teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong willingness to work hands-on using exploratory analytical techniques that may involve advanced statistical methods.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction, coordination, project management, and prioritization with senior leaders and business partners.
- Ability to identify and evaluate trends, isolate root causes, and provide timely and effective resolutions.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or another quantitative discipline.
- Knowledge and understanding of consumer and small business lending practices, policies, procedures, and key drivers impacting lending portfolios, including portfolio performance and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to transform findings into executable plans to achieve business objectives.
- Ability to contribute to strategic decisions and coordinate with multiple stakeholders, develop consensus, and gain buy-in for strategic priorities.
- Proficiency in Advanced SAS, SAS Macros, SQL, Tableau, and business intelligence or automation tools.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and operate effectively in a dynamic and complex environment.
- Strong ability to build partnerships and collaborate across business and functional areas.
