Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Architect – Human Capital Management Portfolio to help shape the future architecture and technology strategy supporting Human Capital Management functions across the enterprise.
In this role, you will provide architectural leadership across a portfolio of applications and platforms that support talent acquisition, workforce management, learning, compensation, benefits, employee experience, and other critical HR capabilities. You will partner with business and technology leaders and engineering teams to modernize technology solutions, simplify complex application landscapes, and drive the adoption of scalable, secure, and resilient architecture patterns, with special emphasis on implementing AI-enabled capabilities to accelerate rationalization of the portfolio, simplification of the employee experience, and standardization of the architecture.
You will help define target-state architectures, guide strategic technology investments, and evaluate emerging capabilities. This role is ideal for an architect who enjoys balancing practical delivery and strategic portfolio curation within a highly regulated enterprise environment.
In this role, you will:
- Help HR engineering teams accelerate delivery of AI-enabled capabilities by delivering practical, effective architectural recommendations, prototypes, and proofs of concept.
- Use AI development tools to prototype solution possibilities with and for engineering teams.
- Create and maintain of architecture artifacts, including current-state assessments, target-state architectures, solution designs, and technology roadmaps.
- Participate in the definition of future technology architecture and strategy supporting the Human Capital Management portfolio.
- Identify medium- to high-impact architecture opportunities and provide guidance throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Conduct complex technology and system assessments to evaluate architecture options, dependencies, risks, and long-term sustainability.
- Help define architecture patterns, standards, and integration approaches across Human Capital Management platforms and related enterprise services.
- Communicate enterprise architecture strategy, standards, and direction to both business and technology stakeholders.
- Make architecture decisions and recommendations that support scalability, maintainability, resiliency, security, and operational excellence.
- Understand compliance, governance, privacy, and risk management requirements applicable to employee and workforce-related technology solutions.
- Ensure applications and technology solutions adhere to established Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Participate in the evaluation and adoption of AI-enabled solutions that improve employee experience, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Partner with architects, engineers, product teams, and business leaders to resolve complex technology challenges and achieve strategic goals.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to support the successful integration of SaaS platforms and enterprise applications within the broader technology ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 2+ years of experience designing and implementing AI enabled solutions.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting technology platforms for enterprise staff functions, particularly Human Resources or Human Capital Management.
- Experience working with Human Capital Management capabilities such as recruiting, talent management, learning, workforce management, compensation, benefits, or employee experience.
- Experience evaluating, architecting, or integrating AI-enabled capabilities within enterprise applications and business platforms.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools to generate code, diagrams, documentation, and other system artifacts (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies).
- Experience with SaaS-based enterprise platforms and integration patterns.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture, application integration, APIs, event-driven architectures, and technology modernization practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence architecture decisions across multiple teams and business partners.
- Ability to balance near-term business priorities with long-term architecture strategy and platform evolution.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$119,000.00 - $206,000.00Benefits
