About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Priority Support L3 Network Engineer manager to join our Network Operations organization. This role provides advanced, high touch operational support for Wells Fargo’s most critical network services and environments. As a Level 3 engineer, you’ll be responsible for deep technical troubleshooting, rapid issue resolution, and close coordination with engineering teams and vendors during high impact incidents. This role is hands on, fast paced, and focused on operational stability and customer outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as Level 3 escalation support for complex and high severity network incidents impacting critical services
- Lead advanced troubleshooting efforts across enterprise network environments, including routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, proxies, and SD WAN
- Actively participate in Major Incident Management bridges, providing technical leadership, accurate updates, and clear remediation guidance
- Perform break fix configuration changes and support emergency restorations to stabilize impacted services
- Partner closely with Network Engineering, Architecture, and Service Management teams to restore service and reduce recurrence
- Engage directly with strategic vendors and TAC organizations for escalations, root cause analysis, and long term fixes
- Analyze packet captures and telemetry using tools such as Sniffer and Infinistream to isolate complex network behavior
- Review change related incidents to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities to improve operational discipline
- Provide detailed incident documentation, timelines, and post incident technical input to support root cause analysis
- Support on call rotations, including after hours and weekend coverage, for Priority Support customers and platforms
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience in network operations, priority support, or equivalent through work experience, training, military service, or education
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues in large scale enterprise environments
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands on network support experience in a NOC, Priority Support, or advanced operations environment
- Strong working knowledge of routing and switching protocols including OSPF, BGP, and related technologies
- Extensive experience with enterprise networking platforms including Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure
- Hands on experience supporting firewalls, load balancers such as F5, proxy platforms, and complex IP architectures
- Strong understanding of IP subnetting, Layer 2 through Layer 4 networking, QoS, MPLS, and SD WAN
- Experience with Arista networking platforms is a plus
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues to both technical and non technical audiences
- Experience supporting high impact incidents under time pressure while maintaining operational discipline
- Familiarity with automation and scripting in a network operations context, including Ansible or Python, is a plus
- Certifications such as CCNA, with progress toward or completion of CCNP level certifications preferred
