About this Role
Wells Fargo is seeking an Business Growth Strategy Consultant to join the Global Payments & Liquidity team within Enterprise Functions. This role supports commercial clients in optimizing supplier payment strategies, increasing digital payment adoption, and identifying commercial card and ACH conversion opportunities.
The ideal candidate is analytical, client-focused, and eager to develop expertise in payment solutions and supplier enablement strategies. This individual will partner with internal teams and clients to support payment optimization initiatives, deliver a strong client experience, and contribute to business growth objectives.
In This Role, You Will
Client Strategy & Growth
Support commercial clients in evaluating payment practices and identifying supplier payment optimization opportunities.
Assist in developing and managing a pipeline of digital payment conversion opportunities.
Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to analyze supplier segmentation and payment channel opportunities across commercial card, virtual card, and ACH solutions.
Contribute to the development of digital payment conversion strategies aligned to client business objectives.
Prepare data-driven insights and recommendations for client discussions and business reviews.
Digital Payment Conversion & Supplier Enablement
Support supplier onboarding and digital payment adoption campaigns for new and existing clients.
Monitor conversion metrics, supplier enrollment performance, and campaign activity to identify opportunities for improved adoption.
Educate clients on WellsOne Virtual Card capabilities, ACH optimization strategies, supplier acceptance opportunities, and payment solutions.
Utilize supplier analytics and enrollment data to support campaign optimization efforts.
Collaborate with supplier enrollment teams, card network partners, and internal stakeholders to support successful supplier outreach initiatives.
Relationship Management & Communication
Participate in client kickoff meetings, strategy discussions, and ongoing business reviews.
Build effective working relationships with Treasury Management Sales, Commercial Card, Product, Operations, and Implementation teams.
Communicate payment solutions and campaign updates clearly and professionally to clients and internal partners.
Help manage client expectations, timelines, and deliverables throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Escalate risks or challenges appropriately and partner with stakeholders to support successful outcomes.
Portfolio & Project Management
Support a portfolio of client payment optimization initiatives while maintaining service quality and responsiveness.
Organize priorities, track deliverables, and support execution across multiple concurrent projects.
Monitor campaign performance and assist with reporting, recommendations, and action planning.
Contribute to process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
Share learnings, best practices, and market insights with team members and partners.
Risk & Compliance
Educate clients on payment security best practices, including fraud prevention and risk mitigation strategies.
Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Wells Fargo policies, procedures, and risk management standards.
Maintain knowledge of applicable operational, compliance, and governance requirements.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of Business Growth Strategy experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting commercial payments, treasury management, commercial card, payables solutions, or related financial services products.
Basic knowledge of supplier enablement, digital payment conversion, virtual card programs, ACH payments, or payment optimization strategies.
Ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with clients and internal stakeholders.
Experience analyzing performance metrics, business trends, or operational data.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
Experience working within cross-functional or matrixed teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business productivity tools.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while seeking guidance when appropriate.
