Lead Product Manager - Unsecured Lending Operations

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Product Manager for Unsecured Lending Operations. This role will partner closely with the Operations Leadership and Technology to identify end user needs and deliver products in alignment with the vision set for Unsecured Lending Operations. The successful candidate will collaborate to understand, organize, and prioritize work for scrum teams, have experience with Agile principles, leverage AI tools proficiently, and demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement of processes and end user experiences.  

In this role, you will: 

  • Deliver on the product area vision, priorities and strategy​ while managing risk and ensuring regulatory and policy compliance. 
  • Collaborate with the product manager on the overall product vision. 
  • Identify and build relationships with key partners and stakeholders to communicate product priorities while soliciting and incorporating feedback on requirements where needed. 
  • Actively own the prioritization of a clearly understood product backlog aligned to product area vision and goals. 
  • Coordinate with other product owners in service of the end user experience where required. 
  • Define and refine user stories, including business readiness stories, ensuring acceptance criteria is clearly understood by the team. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that all known work is added to the backlog and made transparent.​ 
  • Maintain a healthy backlog of items that are linked appropriately (Story → Feature). 
  • Accept user stories after they have met the acceptance criteria and the definition of done. 
  • Identify and resolve sequencing and prioritization conflicts for your area. 
  • Demonstrate continuous growth in understanding customer, user, and company needs related to the product.
  • Maintain continuous and cadenced communication with the product manager and delivery teams. 
  • Coordinate as needed with product analysts, delivery coordinators, POs, and supporting roles. 
  • Manage trade-offs and executing daily backlog prioritization and refinement. 
  • Leverage AI tools effectively to deliver value in an efficient manner for our stakeholders.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of Product Management, product development, strategic planning, process management, change delivery experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experienced Product professional with expertise supporting Operations functions, preferably in Credit Card Originations.
  • Previous Product Owner experience and/or certification.
  • Experience with Agile practices, frameworks (e.g. Scrum) and workflow, and collaboration tools, such as Confluence, and Jira.
  • A history of developing products and services for Origination Operation functions specific to Unsecured Consumer Lending products.
  • Experience gathering user/business requirements and translating them into features and user stories.
  • Creating, refining, and reviewing user stories, getting approval on stories from Product Owner / Product Manager.
  • Defining acceptance criteria and reviewing with Product Owner / Product Manager and stakeholders for alignment.
  • Successful record leveraging agile practices and data to drive business outcomes.
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and facilitating discussions to explore the best possible solutions.
  • Experience identifying risks and partnering with appropriate teams and stakeholders to mitigate.
  • Strong presentation (verbal and written) communications skills are required, as this role will provide analysis and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Ability to manage and work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important.
  •  Strong collaborator and empathetic listener who works with diverse groups to solicit multiple perspectives.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills.
  • 3+ years of Credit Card or Small Business Credit card operations experience a plus.
  • Splitting or slicing complex product features into vertical slices of work that teams can execute against 
  • Supporting the Product Area teams to define non-functional requirements and tech enablers. 
  • Participating in Prioritization & Planning, Feature Refinement, Sprint planning and Backlog refinement events 
  • Facilitating syncs with Product Managers and Product Owners to verify health of the Product, track escalated risks/issues, and share analytics. 
  •  Identifying and communicating improvement opportunities for the next planning increment 
  •  Works with delivery team to support data conditioning for testing. 
  • Coordinating with Product Owners/Managers to ensure alignment on Product vision, dependencies and strategy.
