About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Scrum Master to serve as a Technology Release Delivery Lead within the Core Banking Platform team, part of Enterprise Data & Platforms in Consumer Technology. The team is advancing Wells Fargo’s Core Banking Modernization strategy by building a modern, resilient, and scalable foundation that simplifies legacy complexity, accelerates product innovation, and supports improved customer and employee experiences. In this role, you will work at the center of this strategic transformation, bringing together product, technology, testing, and partner teams to align priorities, manage dependencies and risks, strengthen execution readiness, and deliver complex changes safely and predictably. You will also help teams adopt modern engineering, Agile, and AI-enabled ways of working to improve delivery outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop Scaled Agile portfolios of the highest complexity
- Guide the teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices to promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint
- Optimize scrum team velocity to identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance
- Oversee systemic impediments to team agility and guide the teams on methods to escalate
- Deliver capabilities using agile practices while following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met
- Partner with discipline managers to convey their concerns to scrum teams about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards
- Collaborate with product owners, program or project managers to communicate delivery of work product from the teams and escalate key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Interact with internal customers
- Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Train other Scrum Masters and serve as a mentor to less experienced staff.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Agile Scrum Master experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience leading Agile delivery across multiple technology teams, products, or workstreams within a large-scale, highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, dependency management, feature readiness, and cross-team release coordination for complex technology initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Agile and Scaled Agile practices, software development lifecycle controls, release management, testing governance, and production-readiness processes.
- Proven ability to influence product, technology, architecture, testing, operations, risk, and partner teams to resolve impediments, manage competing priorities, and achieve shared delivery outcomes.
- Experience using delivery metrics, automation, and approved AI-enabled tools to improve planning, transparency, quality, predictability, and continuous improvement
Job Expectations:
- Lead planning and delivery coordination across globally distributed teams supporting the Core Banking Platform and broader Core Banking Modernization objectives.
- Facilitate cross-team planning and execution forums to maintain alignment on priorities, commitments, capacity, dependencies, risks, and release timelines.
- Ensure disciplined testing and release readiness, including compliance with SDLC requirements, defect management, operational readiness, required approvals, and Go/No-Go criteria.
- Communicate delivery status, risks, dependencies, decisions, and required actions clearly and proactively to technology, product, and senior leadership stakeholders.
- Champion Agile, product, modern-engineering, and responsible AI-enabled ways of working while coaching teams to improve delivery flow, quality, collaboration, and predictability.
- Lead cross-product area planning and delivery forums, including PI Planning and Scrum of Scrums, to align teams on priorities, commitments, capacity, dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate feature readiness and execution across product, technology, testing, operations, and partner teams, ensuring work is sufficiently refined and prepared for planning and delivery.
- Drive end-to-end testing and release readiness by aligning test execution, environments, data, defect management, production support, change records, runbooks, rollback plans, required approvals, and Go/No-Go decisions.
- Promote transparency and continuous improvement through cross-team demonstrations, product-area retrospectives, delivery metrics, and Communities of Practice, while advancing Agile, modern-engineering, and approved AI-enabled ways of working
