About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager to support our Community Lending & Investment (CLI) team in our Commercial Real Estate (CRE) division.
In this role, you will:
In support of senior management and coverage bankers, analyze and track a portfolio of CDFI loans and/or NMTC investments within the Impact Investing team in Community Lending & Investment (CLI), the group that houses our primary balance sheet lending platform for community development loans and New Markets Tax Credit investments (which also includes our lending for affordable housing).
Analyze and underwrite new loan opportunities and NMTC investments to assist senior Portfolio Managers and Coverage Bankers, utilizing client data, market knowledge, internal loan information, and third-party market research.
Assess the proper financing structures, tax consequences, and investment returns of a potential investment, and understanding the various loan programs, state regulations, and compliance requirements of each product type and ensure Community Reinvestment Act requirements are being achieved.
Prepare memos with senior portfolio managers for credit committee for approval of loans, investments, modifications, and extensions.
Interface with customers to assist in solving day-to-day account issues, identifying needs and maintaining strong relationships.
Participate in property tours and site visits to develop a deeper understanding of community development finance and NMTC transactions and market and foster client relationships.
Work with outside counsel, internal compliance, and our loan closing teams to assist with modifications and new loans and investments.
Review and approve draws on lines of credit.
Conduct quarterly and annual portfolio reviews to identify potential concerns.
Demonstrate continuous pursuit of acquiring knowledge of the CDFI and NMTC industries.
Work in a team environment that will require effective coordination and communication with the customer, internal closing teams, internal debt partners, risk management, and asset management.
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of Commercial Real Estate Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience in the CDFI, NMTC or Affordable Housing industries.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including high level of proficiency in Excel financial modeling
An MBA/MS degree or higher in business, finance, real estate, accounting or a related field.
Ability to help develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Ability to productively participate in the underwriting and closing of transactions.
Ability to interact effectively and confidently with senior management and credit.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
High level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability.
Job Expectations:
Ability to travel up to 20% domestically or as needed

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
