Senior Software Engineer –Java Full Stack

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer. This role will be responsible for the design, development, modernization, and support of the ITEMS application ecosystem, encompassing front-end, back-end, and data engineering components.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Angular, Java, SQL Server, Python, and PySpark, with the ability to contribute across the full technology stack. The role involves modernizing existing applications, enhancing user experiences, developing scalable APIs, supporting cloud-based data platforms, and driving Informatica-to-DLF migration initiatives.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments

  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments

  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures

  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals

  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise applications.

  • 3+ years of full-stack development experience using Angular and Java technologies.

  • 3+ years of hands-on Python development experience.

  • 2+ years of hands-on PySpark development experience.

  • Experience building and supporting enterprise ETL/data processing frameworks.

  • Experience with SQL development, query optimization, and data modeling.

  • Experience developing REST APIs and backend services.

  • Experience working with large-scale data platforms and datasets.

  • Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.

  • Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs.

  • SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL.

  • PySpark and distributed data processing concepts.

  • Data Lake architectures and ETL best practices.

  • JSON, YAML, and configuration-driven development.

  • GitHub, Jenkins, Harness, Liquibase, and CI/CD practices.

  • Unix/Linux scripting.

  • Experience with Data Private Cloud (DPC) and enterprise cloud platforms.

  • Knowledge of Azure, AKS/OpenShift, Kubernetes, or cloud-native development.

  • Experience with Informatica modernization and migration initiatives.

  • Exposure to Kafka, event-driven architectures, and microservices.

  • Experience with Power BI and reporting technologies.

  • Knowledge of Finance, Banking, Accounting, or Enterprise Data Management domains.

  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and regulatory reporting concepts.
