Lead Software Engineer

The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Human Resources Legal, and Public Affairs business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Workplace Technology. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

We are seeking a Lead .NET Software Engineer (Lead Software Engineer) who enjoys and thrives on solving complex problems through innovation impacting change at scale.   Our mission is to deliver stable, secure, scalable, and innovative services at speeds that delight and satisfy our customers and unleash the skills potential of our employees. The ideal candidate will be a forward thinker, passionate technologist and expert in modern software development technologies, APIs and web services, and must be comfortable being at the forefront of a rapidly innovative software development landscape and have the experience to operate across the enterprise technology infrastructure through understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs; and working on complex problems.

Within EFT, the Human Resource Information Technology (HRIT) team provides technology support for team member focused applications and processes.  We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer who will be part of HRIT, primarily supporting departmental applications within HR.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives by applying core development principles, practices, and procedures to the development of various applications within technical domain environments
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to communicate ideas and resolve complex technical issues to achieve goals
  • Serve as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems 
  • Facilitate building out of the Product Development backlog(s) with portfolio stakeholders to support the business and technical Product Strategy; work with Product Owner to prioritize backlog(s)
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor   
  • You will be at the forefront of leading a team through AI development transformation.  Helping develop patterns and standards, and ready to lead the team through rapid change.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of experience with a modern development language. (.NET, Python, React, Java, etc.) with emphasis on the Microsoft development tools and environments
  • 5+ years of experience with relational databases
  • 1+ years of experience leveraging AI tools to make development more efficient


Desired Qualifications:

  • B.S./B.A. degree or higher
  • Strong, clear and concise verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working with APIGEE
  • Knowledge and understanding of DevOps principles
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile
  • Experience facilitating meetings with participants at various levels of experience in different lines of business
  • Experience with Co-pilot and/or Devin


Job Expectations:

  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • Ability to work on-site at approved location at least three days/week

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$119,000.00 - $206,000.00
