Senior Lead Product Manager, Deposit Pricing & Liquidity Strategy

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Product Manager, Liabilities Portfolio Management within Global Payments & Liquidity. This leader will be responsible for defining and executing deposit portfolio optimization initiatives, improve balance sheet outcomes, and support enterprise liquidity objectives.

This role sits at the intersection of Product, Treasury, Finance, ALM, Commercial Banking, and Corporate & Investment Banking, and will lead to the development of deposit pricing approach, portfolio analytics, operational cash growth initiatives, and portfolio optimization initiatives. The successful candidate will leverage deep understanding of deposit behavior, client segmentation, interest rate sensitivity, Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), and balance sheet dynamics to drive sustainable growth and profitability across the deposit portfolio.

Success in this role requires a strategic leader who can translate enterprise funding objectives into actionable pricing, product, and portfolio strategies while influencing stakeholders across Treasury, Finance, Product, Risk, and Relationship Management organizations.


In this role, you will:

  • Support the strategic management of Wells Fargo's wholesale deposit portfolio, ensuring alignment with enterprise funding, liquidity, and balance sheet objectives.

  • Develop portfolio strategies that optimize deposit mix, funding value, profitability, and balance durability across client segments.

  • Own deposit pricing approach and governance, including pricing frameworks, guardrails, rate-setting methodologies, and competitive positioning.

  • Analyze deposit portfolio performance, beta behavior, interest rate sensitivity, client balance migration, and funding economics to inform strategic decisions.

  • Develop forecasts, scenario analyses, and executive recommendations to optimize portfolio outcomes across changing market and rate environments.

  • Partner with Treasury Management, and Coverage teams in Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking to develop strategies that increase operational deposits, deepen primary banking relationships, and improve the quality of funding.

  • Identify opportunities to grow low-cost, relationship-based deposits and improve operating account penetration.

  • Collaborate with Treasury, Finance, and Asset Liability Management teams to align deposit initiatives with enterprise funding plans, liquidity requirements, FTP methodologies, and interest rate risk objectives.

  • Support ALCO discussions through portfolio insights, analytics, and strategic recommendations.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on deposit strategy, pricing actions, market trends, and portfolio performance.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives across Product, Treasury, Finance, Risk, and Technology to deliver sustainable growth, profitability, and balance sheet optimization.


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Product Management, product development, strategic planning, process management, change delivery, or agile product owner experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 5+ years of experience managing deposit portfolios, funding strategies, or balance sheet optimization initiatives.

  • Experience developing pricing strategies and product management frameworks within financial services.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of commercial deposit products, treasury management solutions, and enterprise funding strategies.

  • Strong experience managing large-scale deposit portfolios and driving balance sheet optimization outcomes.

  • Experience engaging with Asset Liability Committees (ALCO), Treasury, and Asset Liability Management organizations.

  • Advanced knowledge of: Deposit pricing strategy; Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP); Interest rate risk management; Deposit beta analysis; Liquidity management; Balance sheet optimization; Stress testing and scenario analysis; Regulatory liquidity frameworks

  • Experience using advanced analytics, modeling, and forecasting techniques to support product and portfolio decisions.

  • Proven track record of identifying and executing pricing optimization opportunities that improve profitability and funding outcomes.

  • Strong executive communication and storytelling capabilities, with the ability to simplify complex deposit portfolio and funding concepts, build executive-ready narratives, and gain alignment across cross-functional stakeholders to drive enterprise-wide strategic decisions.

  • Ability to influence and lead across large matrixed organizations.

  • Experience working with Commercial Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, Treasury Management, or Transaction Banking businesses.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory, liquidity, and risk management requirements affecting deposit portfolios.


Job Expectations:

  • This position is a hybrid work model. Must be willing to work out of Charlotte, NC or Minneapolis, MN approximately three days a week.

Pay Range:

  • Charlotte, NC: $139,000 - $217,000

  • Minneapolis, MN: $153,000 - $239,000

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
