HR Service Delivery Consultant - Background Screening Operations

About this role

HR Operations and Service Delivery is seeking an HR Service Delivery Consultant to support the expansion and enhancement of U.S. background screening capabilities.

In this role, you will manage background screening cases, support operational initiatives, and provide exceptional service to candidates, employees, recruiters, and business partners. You will play a key role in ensuring screening activities are completed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with established procedures while meeting productivity, quality, and service-level expectations.

The successful candidate will bring experience in HR operations, background screening, investigations, case management, compliance, customer service, or a related function, along with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The role requires sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

In this role, you will

  • Manage background screening cases from initiation through completion, including reviewing results, resolving discrepancies, obtaining required information, documenting activity, and escalating matters requiring additional review.

  • Analyze screening results and supporting information to identify inconsistencies, exceptions, missing information, and potential risks, and prepare case summaries for appropriate stakeholders.

  • Provide timely, accurate, and professional support to candidates, employees, recruiters, HR partners, and other stakeholders regarding screening requirements, documentation needs, case status, delays, exceptions, and next steps.

  • Coordinate with internal partners and external screening providers to resolve documentation issues, screening delays, case exceptions, and other barriers to timely case completion.

  • Prioritize and manage workload based on urgency, case aging, risk, service-level expectations, and business priorities while meeting established productivity, quality, timeliness, and responsiveness objectives.

  • Maintain accurate and complete case documentation, including screening results, communications, findings, decisions, and escalation activity.

  • Support quality reviews, operational reporting, service-level monitoring, and performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Support the implementation of new or enhanced screening services, processes, technologies, and workflow improvements through testing, training, operational readiness, and post-launch stabilization activities.

  • Develop and maintain operational resources, including procedures, process documentation, job aids, training materials, FAQs, and escalation protocols.

  • Partner with Employee Relations, Legal, Compliance, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Cybersecurity, technology teams, and external providers to resolve complex issues, strengthen service delivery, and improve the candidate and employee experience.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Human Resources operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in HR service delivery, background screening, investigations, case management, compliance, operational risk, employee relations, recruiting operations, customer service, or a related function.

  • Experience reviewing, analyzing, and processing sensitive cases, investigative information, background screening results, public records, employment verifications, education verifications, criminal history information, or related documentation.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify discrepancies, conduct research, document findings, and escalate matters in accordance with established procedures.

  • Experience providing customer service and responding to stakeholder inquiries in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities and performance expectations.

  • Experience coordinating work across internal stakeholders, operational teams, external vendors, or background screening providers to support timely case resolution.

  • Experience utilizing case-management systems, applicant-tracking systems, HR systems, workflow tools, dashboards, reports, or operational metrics to manage workload and monitor service delivery.

  • Knowledge of employment screening requirements and related legal or regulatory considerations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and applicable state and local requirements.

  • Experience supporting quality assurance, operational reporting, service-level monitoring, exception management, process improvements, system enhancements, operational transitions, or new service implementations.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, human resources, business, risk management, or a related discipline.
