Senior Software Engineer - Network Analytics Platform

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale the next generation of enterprise network analytics and observability solutions. This role will be responsible for developing core platform capabilities that support network performance analytics, capacity intelligence, application visibility, network experience measurement, and data-driven operational insights.

The engineer will work closely with network engineers, architects, data engineers, platform engineers, and business stakeholders.

This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the architecture and development of an enterprise-scale analytics platform built on modern software engineering principles, API-first design, automated data pipelines, observability, and cloud-native technologies.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex software engineering initiatives and technical deliverables across multiple development efforts..

  • Contribute to strategic planning activities and help shape long-term technology solutions and engineering roadmaps.

  • Design, develop, test, debug, deploy, and maintain scalable applications, services, APIs, and data-driven solutions.

  • Build reusable software components, integration frameworks, and automation capabilities that improve operational efficiency.

  • Evaluate technical challenges and recommend solutions based on software engineering best practices, architecture standards, and business requirements.

  • Resolve complex technical issues while ensuring reliability, performance, maintainability, and security of delivered solutions.

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, and technology partners to deliver high-quality technology solutions.

  • Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making processes.

  • Drive engineering excellence through automated testing, software quality practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Lead projects and serve as a technical escalation point while mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers.

  • Support observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support activities to ensure application stability and operational effectiveness.

  • Contribute to software delivery automation, release management, and engineering lifecycle best practices.

  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ experience developing applications using JavaScript and Python

  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices

  • Experience with source control, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience working with containerized applications and cloud-native architectures

  • Experience building analytical, reporting, observability, or telemetry-driven solutions

  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, application architecture, and secure coding practices

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues


Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience in large enterprise environments

  • Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, or similar container platforms

  • Experience with Kafka, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems

  • Experience designing scalable APIs, services, and backend applications

  • Experience with MongoDB, SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar database technologies

  • Experience implementing DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, and automation frameworks

  • Strong understanding of system resiliency, high availability, and performance optimization

  • Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership across projects

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
