Corporate Banking Middle Office, Assistant Vice President - Loan IQ

About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Corporate Banking Middle Office, Assistant Vice President to support critical corporate banking operations within Global Operations. You will help ensure accurate and efficient transaction execution, support a strong risk and control environment, and partner with stakeholders to enhance client and business outcomes. This role offers meaningful exposure to corporate banking products, processes, and operational strategy.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as an intermediary between front-office and back-office teams during lending origination and trading activities
  • Participate in low-to-moderately complex Corporate & Investment Banking Lending Operations initiatives and identify process improvement opportunities within the middle-office function
  • Execute credit requests and maintain data across loan and operating exposure products, including client and legal entity onboarding, system setup, document review, checklist completion, and coordination of booking, funding, and collateral requirements
  • Review credit approvals and legal documentation to support accurate system setup and complete applicable regulatory and compliance activities, including required screenings and KYC confirmation
  • Partner with loan operations and internal stakeholders to support transaction closing and funding, resolve routine issues, and escalate exceptions when appropriate
  • Review and analyze low-to-moderately complex business, operational, or technical assignments that require research, evaluation, and selection among defined alternatives
  • Exercise independent judgment within established procedures to support medium-risk deliverables and recommend solutions to operational issues
  • Apply developing knowledge of lending operations policies, procedures, products, controls, and compliance requirements when completing assigned work
  • Collaborate with functional colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders to coordinate deliverables, communicate issues, and support timely operational outcomes

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of credit operations, loan operations, or deal support experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 2+ years of experience working with Loan IQ for loan servicing, onboarding, deal setup, and lifecycle management
  • 2+ years of experience in syndicated loan deal booking, transaction closing, funding activities, and operational coordination
  • 2+ years of experience reviewing and interpreting credit agreements, legal documentation, and lending facility structures


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience reviewing legal documentation, including credit agreements, amendments, and related lending documents.
  • Ability to identify operational risks, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement within lending operations.
  • Experience collaborating with front office, legal, credit risk, collateral management, and loan operations teams to facilitate transaction execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, reconciliation, and operational tracking.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple transactions, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of loan trading, secondary market transactions, or asset-servicing processes.

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to work in a hybrid work arrangement in accordance with Wells Fargo's current workplace guidelines.
  • Willingness and ability to work the designated shift of 6:30 PM to 3:30 AM IST and provide flexibility to support business and operational requirements as needed.
