Senior Balance Sheet Management Analyst- Executive Analytics & Strategic Initiatives

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Balance Sheet Management Analyst to join the Balance Sheet & Interest Rate Risk Management (BSIRRM) team, with a specific focus on supporting strategic projects and initiatives that enhance the balance sheet and net interest income forecasting process.

This is an individual contributor role reporting into BSIRRM Governance and Oversight, Risk Management and Strategic Initiatives function. It requires nimble deployment of technical capabilities, alongside strategic thinking, risk management mindset, and IRR knowledge to drive forward complex initiatives, ad hoc executive requests, and technology transformation efforts.

In this role, you will:

Strategic projects and forecasting enhancement

  • Support high-impact strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of results that align with BSIRRM's business objectives
  • Serve as the BSIRRM strategic initiatives analyst for forecasting process enhancement workstreams — requirements definition, development, UAT coordination, and post-implementation review across balance sheet and NII forecasting
  • Support creation of executive analytics — enabling data flows, interaction with models, and synthesizing forecasting inputs and outputs into materials for senior leadership, committees, and ad hoc executive requests
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans and initiatives, ensuring alignment across the BSIRRM function
  • Support change management items related to newly developed forecasting capabilities and ongoing process automation
  • Monitor and report on progress, risks, and issues, providing regular updates to senior leadership and other stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI-enabled solutions, automation, and advanced analytics to complex balance sheet, interest rate risk, and financial management processes while ensuring strong governance, controls, and data integrity
  • Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, supporting projects that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or that fall between departments or leadership areas of responsibility

Governance, risk, and controls

  • Support a streamlined, scalable, and aligned operational risk framework that supports strategic priorities
  • Support the issue management lifecycle — identification, planning, resolution, tracking, and closure — and RCSA and internal controls framework activities for BSIRRM forecasting processes
  • Ensure data quality and establish controlled processes
  • Ensure accurate recurring deliverables are completed and compliant with various treasury risk management regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, Financial Risk Management, and model governance teams, as well as outside parties including regulatory agencies
  • Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintain high confidentiality

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Treasury experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of financial institution balance sheets, product offerings, and financial risk management
  • Understanding of asset liability management and interest rate risk management concepts
  • Advanced knowledge and application of Python and SQL, or similar programming and data management languages
  • Experience leveraging artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced analytics tools to improve forecasting, reporting, financial analysis, data management, and business process efficiency
  • Experience with regulatory requirements surrounding the management of model risk, interest rate risk, liquidity, and capital
  • Experience assessing the adequacy of policies, procedures, and processes, including compliance and operational controls within a large, complex organization
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or individual projects, demonstrating strong leadership and strategic thinking
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to a broad range of audiences
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and complex treasury reporting expertise
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment, prioritize tasks, learn quickly, provide superior stakeholders service, and take on new challenges with a strategic mindset
