About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Sourcing Consultant to join the Strategic Sourcing team. This individual will lead complex and high-risk sourcing engagements and support category strategies across customer service, business process outsourcing, language services, mortgage-related services, and real estate appraisal, valuation, and analytics.

The consultant will lead sourcing activities from initial business requirements through competitive sourcing, supplier evaluation, commercial negotiation, contracting, approvals, and implementation support. The role partners closely with business leaders, Legal, Finance, Third-Party Risk Management, Supplier Management, Technology, and other stakeholders to deliver cost optimization, risk mitigation, and business value.

In this role, you will:

Lead Sourcing Strategy & Category Management

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing for complex, high-risk, and business-critical supplier engagements, including intake, sourcing strategy, competitive events, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and implementation support.
  • Develop and execute sourcing and category management strategies that support business priorities, cost optimization, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and long-term value.
  • Lead Request for Proposal and other competitive sourcing activities, including requirements development, supplier communications, evaluations, scorecards, negotiations, and award recommendations.
  • Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, service levels, contract term, renewal provisions, operational requirements, governance, and other commercial terms.
  • Manage complex contracting efforts involving master agreements, statements of work, amendments, technology schedules, and other supplier agreements.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Risk, Technology, Supplier Management, and business stakeholders to address contract requirements, third-party risk, financial approvals, regulatory requirements, and execution dependencies.
  • Analyze supplier proposals, spend, pricing models, benchmarks, total cost, and financial impacts to develop negotiation strategies and sourcing recommendations.
  • Identify and appropriately escalate commercial, contractual, operational, financial, and supplier risks.
  • Maintain sourcing pipeline, contract, financial-impact, savings, and status information and provide clear reporting to management and stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships with senior business leaders, suppliers, and cross-functional partners while managing multiple engagements and competing priorities.
  • Provide sourcing expertise, mentoring, and practical guidance to less experienced sourcing professionals and business partners.

Contract Negotiation & Commercial Management

  • Lead all aspects of supplier negotiations, including development of Title Services and Contact Center categories and negotiation strategies, vendor communications, proposal evaluations, and award recommendations.

  • Draft, review, and manage contract language to address evolving business, technology, regulatory, and market requirements.

Supplier Relationship & Risk Management

  • Manage strategic supplier relationships throughout the contract lifecycle, driving performance, customer satisfaction, service improvements, and value realization.
  • Partner with Line of business, Supplier Management, Third Party Risk Management, Legal, Information Security, Data Privacy, and Finance to ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, Consumer Lending industry standards and risk management standards.
  • Resolve supplier disputes and proactively address supplier performance or risk concerns.

Stakeholder Partnership & Governance

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executive leadership, business partners, vendors, and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with business units to define requirements, execute RFx events, evaluate suppliers, and support vendor selection decisions.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment on sourcing strategies, supplier recommendations, contract terms, risk decisions, and implementation plans.
  • Act as a central point of coordination for sourcing initiatives across multiple business groups.

Compliance, Reporting & Implementation

  • Ensure Home Lending and COO contracts and sourcing activities comply with applicable legal, regulatory, risk, and corporate requirements, including UDAAP, RESPA, HMDA, CFL, third-party risk standards, and Wells Fargo contracting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Third-Party Risk, Compliance, Finance, Supplier Management, and business stakeholders to identify and escalate contractual, supplier, operational, technology, financial, and reputational risks and complete required due diligence, exception, and approval activities before contract execution.
  • Incorporate current risk and control requirements into supplier agreements and contract-remediation activities, including artificial intelligence provisions, confidentiality protections, service-level requirements, business-continuity controls, and other terms needed to address the risk profile of the engagement.
  • Track, communicate, and report sourcing progress, realized value, risk considerations, and implementation readiness.

Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and subject matter expertise to less experienced sourcing professionals, Buyers, and business partners.
  • Educate stakeholders on sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and risk-related policies and processes.
