About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within Enterprise Data & Platforms (EDP) in Consumer Technology (CT) team. This Lead Software Engineer will be part of the Core Banking Deposits organization leading critical tech product areas. This position will lead mission critical products that provide service/API capabilities supporting various aspects of customer and account data. The ideal candidate will be part of the management team providing engineering leadership to multiple scrum teams within the product area. This position will play a key role in managing/supporting all technology risk remediation/management tasks and focus on transformation activities including app/tech modernization and support Core Banking Modernization efforts. Candidate will also be responsible to ensure technology solutions implemented adheres to enterprise policies and standards focusing on production availability and stability as the number one priority.
In this role, you will:
Lead complex, enterprise‑wide technology initiatives with broad organizational impact.
Ensure alignment with Banking Platform Architecture and adherence to non‑functional requirements for every release.
Design, develop, test, and deploy software across all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including GenAI‑driven development patterns.
Drive resolution of escalated technical issues across code, build, deployment, and environment management.
Interpret, enforce, and enhance security, stability, and scalability standards within complex technology domains.
Collaborate with Product Managers/Owners to influence roadmaps, drive user satisfaction, and promote intelligent, innovative solutions.
Interact with third‑party vendors and technology service providers to support product delivery.
Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
3+ years of experience leading multiple implementations and supporting changes to production utilizing CI/CD tools such as GitActions , Harness and uDeploy.
3+ years of experience of strong knowledge of Autosys, OpenShift (OCP), and GCP environments.
3+ years Application modernization and data center migration
3+ year of migrating legacy applications to OCP and other Cloud platforms
3+ years of Kafka messaging, Apache Tomcat
5+ years of experience with databases such as Redis, MongoDB, or Oracle
3+ year of experience in Kubernetes, OpenShift
4+ years of Web Services experience
5+ years of technical troubleshooting experience using monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, Glassbox, Dynatrace, publishing and maintaining technical documentation.
5+ years of demonstrated ability to work in inclusive, geographically distributed onshore/offshore teams.
5+ years of experience designing and delivering middleware services/API applications in high‑volume production environments.
1+ years of experience with GenAI stack. LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith for building agentic workflows
1+ year experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP), enterprise-grade agentic workflow
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
JIRA experience
Advanced scripting skills specifically around automation, log rotation, data collection, error collection and alerting
Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams
Ability to communicate confidentially and professionally
Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership
Ability to influence and collaborate at all internal organizational levels
Proficiency in developing React-based AI agents, strong understanding of multi-agent orchestration systems
Job Expectations:
This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with 3 days/week in the designated office location
