Wells Fargo Home Lending is seeking a Product Strategy Director to provide strategic leadership across the Customer Acquisition, Retention, and Sales Experience product portfolio. This role is accountable for setting product direction, defining value, and governing outcomes across multiple product teams responsible for end‑to‑end customer lifecycle experiences.
The Product Strategy Director focuses on portfolio clarity, strategic alignment, and measurable outcomes, while enabling Product Managers and Product Owners to deliver high‑quality customer and business value. Success in this role requires strong product judgment, executive influence, and the ability to responsibly apply emerging capabilities—including Artificial Intelligence—within a highly regulated environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Product Vision, Portfolio Strategy, and Value Direction
Set and continuously evolve a customer‑anchored, insight‑driven product vision across end‑to‑end digital experiences, customer application, and sales enablement tools
Translate enterprise and line of business priorities into clear portfolio strategies, roadmaps, and outcome‑based milestones
Own portfolio‑level investment prioritization, resource allocation, and capacity planning to ensure optimal return on investment within risk and compliance guardrails
Govern products and capabilities across the full lifecycle, from discovery and launch through optimization and scaling
Customer, Market, and Outcome‑Driven Decision Making
Act as a trusted strategic advisor to Sales, Marketing, and Business leaders by grounding recommendations in deep customer, market, and performance insights
Champion customer understanding through research, analytics, journey mapping, and closed feedback loops
Govern prioritization frameworks that balance value, effort, risk, and capacity
Drive relentless focus on measurable outcomes and benefits realization, not feature delivery
AI‑Enabled Product Innovation and Scalable Solutions
Identify, sponsor, and scale opportunities to apply AI and automation across product discovery, decision‑making, delivery efficiency, and operating maturity
Partner with Technology leadership to deliver reusable, platform‑oriented AI capabilities that improve speed, quality, and operational leverage
Collaborate cross‑functionally to design AI‑enabled customer and sales experiences that improve conversion, effectiveness, and relationship management
Product Organization Leadership, Governance, and Executive Influence
Manage and develop managers of Product Managers and Product Owners, including workforce planning, succession, performance management, and capability building aligned to enterprise product standards
Build a strong, unified partnership with Technology, operating as a single leadership team
Establish portfolio‑level success metrics, performance reviews, and course‑correction mechanisms
Serve as the primary executive storyteller, influencing senior stakeholders and leading change across complex, matrixed organizations
Foster a culture of learning, experimentation, and disciplined adoption of modern product and AI practices
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Strategy, Digital Strategy, or related roles
4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
Experience applying AI, automation, or advanced analytics within digital products or sales enablement solutions
Experience serving banks, Fintechs, or other non-bank financial institutions
Familiarity with responsible AI principles, governance, and operating within regulated environments
Experience driving transformation or operating model maturity across product organizations
Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-platform product portfolios in large matrixed organizations
Strong executive presence and communication with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders
Proven ability to partner and build trusted partnerships with Technology, Sales, Marketing, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and other support partners
Proven ability to define product strategy, influence senior stakeholders, and lead through ambiguity
Strong customer experience, lifecycle management, and data‑driven decision‑making capabilities
