About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Banking Portfolio Associate to support portfolio management of credit‑insured deals and to support the originations team by conducting preliminary credit screening and assessing fundability of prospective clients.


In this role, you will:

  • Research complex financial and credit information for commercial business, or high net worth customer loan packages, according to business unit standards within Commercial Banking Portfolio Management functional area
  • Review basic issues, policies, or procedures for which answers can be quickly obtained, related to low to medium risk tasks and deliverables
  • Manage and monitor portfolio of credit‑insured deals, including portfolio monitoring and reporting
  • Support originations team by screening credit profiles of prospects and assessing fundability
  • Receive direction from supervisor and exercise independent judgement while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with managers, functional colleagues, and stakeholders including internal as well as external customers

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (data analysis, modeling, dashboards); working knowledge of Power BI preferred
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, credit fundamentals, and key ratios
  • Familiarity with credit underwriting concepts
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast‑paced environment ​
