Chief of Staff, Cards & Personal Loans Business Development

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Chief of Staff (Business Execution Senior Lead) to support the Head of Business Development for Cards and Personal Loans. This role will serve as a strategic advisor and operating partner, driving alignment and execution across the Business Development portfolio. 

The Chief of Staff will play a key role in helping shape and execute the organization's strategic priorities by providing structure, visibility, and coordination across a diverse portfolio of initiatives. This individual will help drive business planning, executive communications, organizational effectiveness, and partnership-related activities while ensuring leadership remains focused on the highest-impact opportunities.

Working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional partners, this role will help translate complex business challenges into actionable recommendations, support the evaluation and advancement of growth opportunities, and enable effective decision-making through thoughtful analysis, strategic insight, and clear communications. In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Business Development leadership, translating priorities into actionable plans, tracking progress, and driving accountability across strategic objectives

  • Lead business planning and organizational performance, including KPI tracking, executive reporting, pipeline oversight, and talent development    

  • Manage operating and governance routines, including leadership meetings, business reviews, talent reviews, and cross-LOB forums, ensuring effective decision-making and follow-through

  • Drive cross-functional coordination across business and support partners to advance strategic priorities and partnership initiatives  

  • Enhance team effectiveness through structured communication, engagement initiatives, and feedback mechanisms that strengthen alignment and execution

  • Own strategic initiatives and special projects, including new operating model design and process improvements to enable scalable execution


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in credit card strategy, business planning, or business development

  • Experience supporting senior executives in a Chief of Staff, Business Management, Strategy, Consulting, or Business Development capacity

  • Experience driving partnership, growth, or business development initiatives, including pipeline management, opportunity assessment, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional execution

  • Proven ability to operate in ambiguous environments and drive structure, prioritization, and execution

  • Strong executive communication skills, including the development of presentations, business cases, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership

  • Experience influencing without direct authority and building alignment across senior leaders and cross-functional partners

  • Experience synthesizing market insights, business data, and stakeholder perspectives into clear, compelling narratives and actionable recommendations

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to structure ambiguous business opportunities and develop practical solutions

  • Experience conducting market, competitive, and business analyses to support strategic planning and decision-making

Job Expectations:  

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time  

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$139,000.00 - $239,000.00
