About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Engineering Associate to join the Integration Services Engineering team to support the automation, delivery, and operational management of modern infrastructure platforms that enable secure, scalable, and reliable technology services across the enterprise.
In this role, you will implement infrastructure automation solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitOps, contribute to infrastructure lifecycle management, platform operations, self-service capabilities, and automation initiatives that improve the reliability, consistency, and efficiency of engineering services. You will work closely with platform, security, application, and engineering teams to support infrastructure delivery objectives while following established engineering standards, security requirements, and operational practices.
This position is ideal for early-career technology professionals who enjoy problem-solving, automation, and continuous improvement. It provides hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, automation tooling, and enterprise engineering operations within a highly regulated, large-scale technology environment.
You will also participate in Wells Fargo's Career Opportunities in Development and Engineering (CODE) Program, a two-year early-career development program designed to support your technical and professional growth. In this role, you will:
Execute infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management activities using approved Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and processes.
Support GitOps workflows for deploying and maintaining infrastructure and platform services.
Perform operational tasks related to infrastructure automation, platform services, CI/CD pipelines, and self-service capabilities.
Follow established infrastructure standards, engineering patterns, and security requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve routine infrastructure, automation, and platform issues under guidance from senior engineers.
Assist with testing, validation, and deployment of infrastructure code and automation updates.
Monitor infrastructure services and automation workflows to identify issues and escalate when appropriate.
Contribute updates to technical documentation, runbooks, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and engineering ceremonies to expand technical knowledge and skills.
Collaborate with engineering, platform, security, and application teams to support infrastructure delivery objectives.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and process simplification.
Support incident, problem, and change management activities related to infrastructure services.
Required Qualifications:
6+ months of Technology Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
6+ months of experience with object-oriented or systems programming using one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, C#, or Go (Golang) through coursework, internships, research, military experience, personal projects, or professional experience.
6+ months of experience developing or modifying scripts, automation tools, APIs, utilities, or software applications using modern programming languages.
Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including source control, debugging, testing, and code maintenance with experience using Git or similar source control systems.
Exposure to cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), or infrastructure automation technologies such as Azure, AWS, GCP, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools through coursework, certifications, labs, projects, or work experience.
Exposure to container and platform technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, or GitOps workflows through coursework, labs, projects, internships, or work experience.
Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, or similar technologies.
Knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes gained through coursework, certifications, internships, military service, or professional experience.
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting technical issues in academic, project, internship, military, or professional environments.
Knowledge of IT service management processes, including incident, problem, and change management, gained through coursework, certifications, internships, military service, or professional experience.
Bachelor’s in computer science or related field preferred but not required.
Job Expectations:
The selected candidate for this role must be able to begin employment by September 13, 2026, in a full‑time capacity.
This position is required to work from the designated posted office location and must be able to meet all expectations of the current hybrid work schedule, including regular in‑office attendance as defined by the team and program requirements.
Actively engage in the two-year CODE Program, including participation in training, mentorship, networking events, and career development activities.
