About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Treasury Analyst


In this role, you will:

  • Act as Lead Consultant to finance, accounting and Business Line management on matters related to corporate treasury and related financial management
  • Monitor and evaluate global market conditions, funding requirements, asset and liability management, liquidity risk management, capital management, financial performance management, capital, and related activities
  • Provide overall advisory on treasury finance and risk strategies
  • Ensure data quality and establish controlled processes
  • Lead targeted projects including guiding other teammates
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, Corporate Risk Management and Model Governance teams as well as outside parties including regulatory agencies and accounting and consulting firms
  • Make recommendations to more experienced group members and management
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal customers
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Treasury experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience operating as a Product Owner or business lead for data, analytics, reporting, workflow, or technology-enabled delivery initiatives.
  • • Ability to translate complex Treasury business needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery priorities.
  • • Working familiarity with AI-enabled productivity, automation, or analytics concepts, with the ability to evaluate relevant business use cases and partner with technology teams on implementation.
  • Strong understanding of financial institution balance sheet fundamentals, product offerings, and balance sheet management practices.
  • • Experience supporting one or more balance sheet products, such as capital, liquidity, funding, or interest rate risk.
  • • 5+ years of experience using SQL for data transformation, analytics, and large relational databases.
  • • Experience designing technical or data solutions to address complex business problems.
  • • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and influence outcomes in a highly matrixed environment. Draft updated with AI requirements | Prepared for internal JD refinement
  • • Experience with data analysis tools and platforms, such as Dremio, Python, S3 data storage, SAS, Power BI, or similar analytics environments.
  • • Exposure to AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, agentic AI, natural language interfaces, or AI assisted testing and change management capabilities.
  • • Ability to define controls, validation approach, and adoption measures for AI-enabled solutions used in regulated financial services processes.
  • • Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, finance, or a related field.

Job Expectations:

  • Product Ownership & Agile Delivery: Serve as Product Owner for assigned Treasury data and analytics initiatives, leading agile delivery by defining requirements, prioritizing work, and guiding technology teams through established agile practices.
  • • Solution Design & Delivery: Design and influence technical solutions to address complex Treasury business problems, partnering with engineering, architecture, and data teams to deliver scalable and well-controlled outcomes.
  • Backlog Management: Own and maintain a prioritized product backlog aligned to strategic Treasury initiatives, ensuring clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery readiness.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with Treasury stakeholders, data providers, and technology teams, managing expectations and dependencies to drive alignment and execution. • Data Analysis & Validation: Lead data analysis, testing, and validation for Treasury processes and regulatory reporting inputs, ensuring accuracy, control adherence, and audit readiness.
  • Communication & Influence: Translate complex technical and analytical concepts into clear, actionable insights for business and leadership stakeholders; provide regular progress updates and proactively escalate risks and issues.
  • Independent Judgment: Operate independently within established governance frameworks, applying sound judgment to balance business priorities, risk considerations, and policy requirements. Draft updated with AI requirements | Prepared for internal JD refinement .
  • SME Leadership & Knowledge Sharing: Act as a subject-matter expert for assigned Treasury products and data domains, providing guidance, onboarding support, and knowledge sharing to junior product owners and analysts.

AI, Automation, and Digital Enablement Requirements

  • AI use case identification: Identify practical opportunities to apply AI, machine learning, agentic workflows, or automation within Treasury reporting, data validation, UAT, change management, and analytics processes.
  • AI-enabled product ownership: Translate AI or automation opportunities into business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, success measures, and implementation roadmaps that technology teams can execute.
  • Prompt and workflow design: Demonstrate working knowledge of prompt engineering, AI-assisted workflow design, and human-in-the-loop review patterns for business adoption.
  • Data readiness and controls: Partner with data, technology, and risk stakeholders to ensure AI use cases have clearly defined inputs, outputs, lineage, validation checks, access controls, and audit evidence.
  • Responsible AI mindset: Apply sound judgment around accuracy, explainability, privacy, data protection, model risk, and business controls when evaluating or implementing AI-enabled solutions.
  • AI adoption and enablement: Support training, documentation, adoption playbooks, and stakeholder communications to help Treasury users understand how to use AI-enabled capabilities safely and effectively.
  • Measurement and continuous improvement: Define measurable outcomes for AI-enabled initiatives, including productivity improvement, cycle-time reduction, defect reduction, user adoption, and control effectiveness.
