The Chief Operations Office (COO) Early Talent programs support the largest business within the Wells Fargo Enterprise. The three main channels under COO include Operations, Business Services, and Business Risk Control and Regulatory Oversight. Our programs are designed to help participants learn about specific segments of COO functions to help create and manage processes while growing your expertise. By taking a more integrative approach to these functions, Wells Fargo will be able to deliver a more consistent experience for our customers and operate more efficiently.

Chief Administrative Office

Chief Administrative Office (CAO) develops and manages enterprise services that create the best possible experience for our business partners, employees, and customers. With a focus on effectiveness and consistency, the CAO builds and maintains our buildings, keeps people safe, secures company assets, helps the business use data to make decisions, optimizes our supply chain, and more.  Seven different lines of business combine to create unique pathways to a Business Management career.

  • Corporate Properties Group – delivers and maintains world-class space for employees and customers while strategically implementing corporate real estate transactions
  • Corporate Security & Enterprise Business Resiliency: Corporate Security – strives to ensure the safest, most secure business environment possible for employees and customers. Enterprise Business Resiliency – provides guidance and support in developing, implementing, and exercising effective business continuity plans and coordinating and facilitating companywide incident response and information flow, and governing the Service Delivery Model
  • Strategy and Projects – brings together expertise in strategic execution and change management across the enterprise, helping the COO solve complex problems. This pathway is a combination of three business functions: CAO Business Management, Data Management & Insights, and Strategy Projects & Enterprise Change Management
  • Supply Chain Management – Specializes in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, procure-to-pay capabilities, timely supply chain analytics, and delivering supply solutions with acceptable third-party

Corporate & Investment Banking-Chief Operating Office (CIB-COO)

CIB COO is comprised of multiple functions that deliver CIB services to employees and its customers.  From transformation through innovation to change management to risk and control, the opportunities to contribute cross various dimensions. CIB delivers a comprehensive suite of capital markets, banking, and financial products and services. A trusted partner to our clients, we provide corporate and transactional banking, commercial real estate lending and servicing, investment banking, equity and fixed income solutions including sales, trading, and research capabilities to corporate, commercial real estate, government, and institutional clients across the globe. This program experience includes relationship building, relevant work assignments, coaching, feedback sessions, group projects, and other informative learning sessions with key leaders. It is designed to provide students with a blend of business and professional development training opportunities that incorporate real-world experiences and prepare you for a career here at Wells Fargo.

What will you do?

Your responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

  • Participating in formal early talent program and workshop initiatives
  • Reviewing various assignments related to low-to-medium risk tasks and deliverables to become familiar with policies and procedures
  • Working in a matrixed environment and exercising independent judgment while developing understanding of compliance and risk management requirements
  • Collaborating and consulting with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Participating in a range of team projects, tasks, and activities in various Wells Fargo businesses, supporting execution of strategic priorities and daily routines
  • Using various software products to create communications, gather data, deliver outcomes, and organize priorities
  • Developing key competencies through partnerships, consulting, regulatory focus, risk assessments, data analytics, and on-the-job training
  • Interfacing with various levels of leadership, partners, and peers across the enterprise
  • Taking part in non-business-related stretch assignments, i.e., DE&I, employee engagement, community service, etc.
  • Creating presentations, and visuals to assist with documenting business requirements

Program structure and desired qualifications:

  • Summer internship for juniors. Program length is 10 weeks
  • Full-time program for recent college graduates within December 2024 – May 2025. Program length is 24 months
  • Open to all majors
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic environments
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical problems
  • Energetic self-starter who proactively takes initiative, remains curious and has a genuine interest in learning and growth
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative culture in both a face-to-face and virtual environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to take on responsibility and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate regular feedback, coaching, and mentoring during your program 

Some of the open positions in the Full-time Program would benefit from candidates with one or more of the following professional skills or certifications:

  • Data analytics, including experience in SQL, PowerBI, JIRA, SharePoint, and/or Tableau
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in Agile methodology
  • SIE Certifications
