About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Loan Documentation Processor.


In this role, you will:

  • Support the Loan Documentation team in reviewing, documenting, closing, and disbursing loans

  • Review the most complex legal, appraisal, and title information

  • Prepare loan documentation, coordinate loan closings, and initiate loan disbursements

  • Monitor the loan disbursement process

  • Perform or guide others on complex loans that require planning, evaluation, and interpretation

  • Ensure compliance with company's policies and procedures

  • Identify and mitigate Loan Documentation risks in accomplishing business goals

  • Prioritize work and provide day to day work leadership and mentorship to the Loan Documentation team

  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to the immediate Loan Documentation team on generating loans, as well as technical and legal guidance within matters related to loan documentation


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of customer service, loan administration, collections, or sales environment support experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in loan documentation, commercial or consumer lending operations, or credit administration; prior experience with Credit View or similar loan origination/document platforms preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of loan products, structures, collateral documentation, regulatory requirements, lending compliance, and bank credit policy.
  • Proven ability to review, interpret, and validate complex credit terms and convert them into accurate, compliant loan documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality control, issue resolution, and risk identification within loan operations or credit support functions.
  • Strong capability to lead, coach, and provide technical guidance to processing teams; experience in workflow coordination or acting‑lead roles is an advantage.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and a high level of accuracy under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Underwriting, Credit, Legal, Relationship Managers, and Operations teams.
  • Proficiency in loan documentation systems, loan servicing applications, workflow tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to drive process improvements, support policy/system changes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Expectations:

1. Deliver Accurate and Compliant Loan Documentation

  • Ensure all loan documents produced through Credit View are accurate, complete, and aligned with approved credit terms.
  • Validate documentation against internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and product guidelines.
  • Maintain a zero‑tolerance approach to errors affecting legal enforceability, customer experience, or operational risk.

2. Serve as the Subject‑Matter Expert (SME) for Credit View

  • Act as the technical authority for Credit View functionality, templates, workflows, and best practices.
  • Support cross‑functional partners in interpreting loan structures, conditions, and system rules.
  • Stay current with updates, enhancements, and policy changes related to the platform.

3. Provide Leadership and Guidance to Processors

  • Offer daily coaching, technical guidance, and escalation support to junior and mid‑level processors.
  • Assist in onboarding, training, and skills development across the documentation team.
  • Help maintain team performance standards and reinforce operational discipline.

4. Manage Workflow, Priorities, and Turnaround Times

  • Monitor daily queues, allocate work effectively, and support the team in meeting service‑level agreements (SLAs).
  • Address bottlenecks proactively and ensure timely delivery, especially for complex or high‑priority deals.
  • Provide transparency and updates to leaders and stakeholders on workload and progress.

5. Conduct Quality Reviews and Strengthen Control Environment

  • Perform peer review checks to ensure high standards of accuracy, consistency, and control.
  • Identify documentation gaps, risks, or discrepancies and drive corrective actions.
  • Promote a strong risk and compliance mindset, ensuring documentation integrity is consistently upheld.

6. Resolve Escalations and Complex Issues

  • Act as the first point of escalation for policy questions, documentation structure concerns, or system limitations.
  • Partner with Underwriters, Credit Officers, Legal, and Relationship Managers to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Provide thoughtful, risk‑aware recommendations to support deal progression.

7. Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process inefficiencies, quality issues, or pain points within the workflow.
  • Recommend and help implement enhancements to procedures, templates, system functionality, or training materials.
  • Actively participate in pilots, UAT testing, or rollouts impacting Credit View or documentation processes.

8. Maintain Professional Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with partners across Credit, Operations, and the Front Office.
  • Provide accurate status updates, escalate risks promptly, and manage expectations effectively.
  • Foster positive, collaborative working relationships to support seamless loan processing.

9. Uphold Data Integrity and Confidentiality

  • Ensure strict protection of customer data, deal information, and sensitive credit details.
  • Adhere to internal standards for data privacy, record retention, and documentation security.

10. Model Team Values, Culture, and Accountability
