About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior System Operations Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
- Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
- Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
- Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
- Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
4+ years of strong Windows and/or Linux operating system administration experience in enterprise environments or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
3+ years of experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware
Relevant certifications such as VMware, MCSA, or Red Hat (RHCSA/RHCE)
Solid understanding of technology support operations, including ticketing and workflow systems, within a production environment
Hands-on experience with PowerShell and Python scripting for automation and operational efficiency
Proven problem resolution and incident management experience, including leading or participating in technical bridge calls during major incidents
Strong understanding of SAN, NAS, and backup technologies, including performance, availability, and troubleshooting concepts
Experience with cloud platforms such as OCP, Azure, or GCP, including hybrid or on‑prem to cloud integrations
Working knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace
Understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management
Experience with on‑call support, Major Incident Management (MIM), or high‑severity outage handling in a 24x7 environment
Job Expectations:
This Operations team provides 14 x7 services and the candidate will be required to work in 2/3 different rotational shifts as per requirement.
To provide technical expertise to highly complex issues and initiatives related to the support and maintenance of the Corporate Distributed Computing Platforms (OS and Hardware) both Virtual and Physical including the following core focus areas; Windows Servers, UNIX based Servers (AIX, Solaris, HP-UX), Linux based Servers (Red Hat SuSE).
