About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
- Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
- Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
- Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
- Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
- Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Mentor less experienced software engineers
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 10+ years of professional Software Engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience in, preferably working with Reference Data
- 8+ years of hands‑on experience building enterprise applications using Java 17 (preferably Java 21), Spring Framework, and Spring Boot
- Strong experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices‑based and event driven architectures
- Well versed distributed systems design
- Strong experience with messaging and event‑streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka, Solace, or equivalent
- Experience working with relational databases including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
- Knowledge of caching and in‑memory data grid solutions such as Redis, Hazelcast, or Oracle Coherence
- Hands‑on experience across cloud and container platforms, including PCF, OpenShift (OCP), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps tools, Github Actions, Sonar, CheckMarx, Blackduck
- Familiarity with monitoring tools Grafana, AppDynamics, Splunk
- Comprehensive understanding about Generative AI tools, including:
- Agentic AI workflows
- Github Copilot
- LLM‑based test generation and developer productivity tools
- Excellent verbal, written, and organizational communication skills
Job Expectations:
- 3+ work experience in Python
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience working in Linux/Unix environments
- Experience working in Agile/SCRUM development environments
- Individual contributor role in the Reference Data Technology team in India
Required to work in the office as per organization’s In Office Adherence / Return to Office (RTO)
