Product Management Director, Credit Card Line Increase

Wells Fargo is seeking a Product Management Director to lead Credit Line Increase (CLI) strategy for the Consumer Credit Card portfolio. This role is critical to driving responsible growth by optimizing credit availability for customers to unlock spend and balance growth while maintaining strong credit performance, long‑term profitability, and customer experience. In this role, you will:

  • Own the end‑to‑end CLI strategy and roadmap for the Wells Fargo Branded Credit Card business, including proactive line assignment, expansion, and reallocation, aligned to responsible growth, profitability, and risk appetite

  • Lead proactive and trigger‑based CLI programs, leveraging data‑driven decisioning to optimize eligibility, timing, and line amount recommendations

  • Oversee customer‑requested CLI and line reallocation decisioning, ensuring consistent policies, strong customer experience, and sound credit outcomes

  • Design and execute test‑and‑learn experimentation across CLI strategies to evaluate impact on utilization, spend lift, losses, approval rates, and customer engagement

  • Continuously optimize CLI performance through rigorous program monitoring of key metrics including utilization, balance growth, losses, NPV, and customer experience indicators

  • Define policies, guardrails, and controls, ensuring alignment with risk frameworks, regulatory expectations, and governance standards

  • Influence senior leaders and key stakeholders through clear communication of insights, trade‑offs, and performance outcomes

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable and compliant CLI capabilities and experience

  • Translate macro‑economic conditions and portfolio performance insights into actionable adjustments to credit line strategies and eligibility criteria

  • Ensure all regulatory, compliance, and business requirements are met for implemented CLI programs, including documentation, validation, and audit readiness

  • Manage resource allocation and prioritization across people and technology investments supporting the CLI roadmap

  • Lead and develop talent and high performing team, fostering a culture of strong risk discipline, experimentation, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of Product Management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

 
Desired Qualifications:

  • Credit Card and/or Payments industry experience, especially at multiple leading credit card issuers or payment providers

  • General manager experience in credit card businesses with direct P&L ownership for a business segment

  • Experience leading credit and lending risk functions within credit card businesses, with exposure across originations, customer management, fraud, and collections

  • Experience leading the launch and implementation of new products or capabilities, including large‑scale platform integrations or technology transformations

  • Experience leading analytics and data‑driven initiatives involving enterprise data infrastructure, including platforms, models, and monitoring capabilities

  • Expertise in multiple credit card segments (consumer across full risk spectrum, small business, commercial, partnerships/co-brands) 

  • Strong conceptual thinking and ability to drive clarity in ambiguity while dealing with credit and operational problems 

  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication, influencing senior leaders through concise, data‑driven presentations and clear strategic storytelling

  • Strong understanding and application of risk management principles 

  • Expertise in credit, product, and marketing data and analysis 

  • Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills based on analysis, rigorous logic, market and consumer dynamics, and operational assessments 

  • A demonstrated focus on leading, coaching, mentoring and guiding team member development 

 
Job Expectations: 

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time 

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$185,000.00 - $300,000.00
