Legal EEO Counsel

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Legal EEO Counsel join the Employment & Investigations Division of the Wells Fargo Legal Department.


In this role, you will:

  • Analyze and respond to legal claims with the EEOC, NLRB, and other agencies, including managing highly complex claims and related legal issues
  • Submit company responses to employment discrimination claims, labor practice charges, and attorney demand letters
  • Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and agency investigations, including drafting and finalizing settlement documents
  • Participate in initiatives of varying scope and complexity while identifying opportunities for process improvements
  • Represent the Company in complex claims, negotiations, settlement discussions, and claims-related legal matters
  • Provide guidance to internal clients on legal matters and advise on policy, legal, and regulatory changes
  • Review and analyze assignments requiring research, evaluation, and independent judgment to deliver medium- to high-risk outcomes
  • Manage highly complex claims while presenting recommendations and exercising independent judgment in complex situations
  • Support more experienced counsel and collaborate with outside counsel on complex matters while guiding less experienced team members
  • Develop strategic direction for claims functions and collaborate with stakeholders and business leaders to implement risk management programs

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience as a practicing attorney investigating merits of administratively filed employment claims and evaluating legal risk of those claims
  • Experience writing persuasive legal responses to the EEOC, NLRB, and various agencies, including responding to letters submitted by the employee’s attorney
  • Experience conducting research, analyzing and responding to discrimination and labor cases
  • Knowledge of employment law, anti-discrimination law, and labor relations
  • Experience participating in agency onsite investigations, legal negotiations, mediations, and settlement conferences
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters
  • Effective in building partnerships, functioning well with project teams, and working for the success of the team
  • Participating in employment law subject matter working groups


Job Expectations:

  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule in one of the posted locations, in office at least 3 days a week
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$100,000.00 - $179,000.00
