About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Vice-President level Portfolio Manager for the Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) team within Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Banking. This TMT Lead CIB Portfolio Manager will partner with Industry Coverage, IG Syndications, Leveraged Finance, Leveraged Underwriting, Macro, Global Payments & Liquidity, and Risk Management to oversee the execution of credit related functions and oversight on a portfolio of private and public companies. The TMT team manages relationships with leading global companies that operate within a wide variety of sub-sectors, including Software, Internet/Digital, Hardware, Semiconductor, Media & Telecom, Data & Analytics, and FinTech.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and oversee credit aspects of a broad portfolio of public and private companies across the TMT sector

  • Perform detailed credit, financial statement analysis, industry analysis and projection modeling to ensure accurate and timely monitoring, risk ratings, covenant compliance, watchlist updates, recognition of potential problems loans of leveraged credit portfolio

  • Lead coordination and execution of loan booking, closing, legal documentation, compliance requirements, and final credit memos

  • Partner with senior bankers to prepare and present portfolio updates to senior leadership, risk management and coverage partners

  • Partner with Corporate Banking Relationship Management, Industry Coverage and Debt Capital Markets Bankers, and other product partners to support client coverage needs related to credit products. Lead credit analysis support and execution to grow relationships through products such as rates/fx/operating exposure for cash management. Engage with clients as needed

  • On-going coordination and partnership with Industrials Independent Risk Management related to borrower and/or portfolio needs

  • Assist with coordination and preparation for borrower/portfolio reviews and responses for internal and external exams

  • Directly or indirectly manage, mentor and train junior team members

  • Responsible for adherence to all Wells Fargo credit policies and procedures. Review and interpret credit policies and procedures and incorporate requirements into credit analysis, observations and lending recommendations

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Experience in CIB Portfolio Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in deal execution or portfolio management in TMT related subsectors

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong accounting skills and ability to analyze financial statements

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • High level of initiative and accountability

  • Strong Excel skills and intermediate Microsoft Office Word, and PowerPoint skills

  • Experience in assessing and modifying projection models

  • Strong knowledge of credit agreements and structures

  • Knowledge and understanding of corporate banking credits, cash flow analysis, and underwriting guidelines 

  • Ability to multitask, time management and prioritization skills

Job Expectations

  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$119,000.00 - $224,000.00
