About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Philanthropy & Community Impact Manager – India and the Philippines to lead and execute community impact and philanthropic strategy across both markets. This role is responsible for managing market‑level philanthropy, nonprofit partnerships, employee volunteerism, and regulatory compliance while advancing enterprise priorities related to reputation, trust, and social risk.

With dual reporting to the Head of Employee Volunteerism, Disaster, and Global Philanthropy and the Head of Public Affairs for India and the Philippines, this role operates within complex regulatory and cultural environments and requires close collaboration with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Communications, and business partners. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong regional expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage a team responsible for national and regional programming initiatives
  • Develop innovative strategies to align with community impact and sustainability initiatives
  • Mitigate reputation risks in all aspects of community relations
  • Assess community needs and the company's effectiveness and efficiency in meeting those needs
  • Recommend changes and program improvements to management
  • Maintain current knowledge of public and private programs as well as related federal and state regulations
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
  • Set and execute enterprise‑aligned philanthropy and community impact strategies for India and the Philippines, ensuring alignment with Wells Fargo’s brand, business, and risk objectives.
  • Manage a portfolio of nonprofit partners with clear accountability for outcomes, governance, and performance.
  • Oversee grantmaking processes, including due diligence, approvals, monitoring, reporting, and renewals, in compliance with internal policies and country‑specific regulations.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Risk, and Compliance to navigate complex regulatory environments related to international philanthropy and corporate social responsibility.
  • Lead employee volunteerism across India and the Philippines, including strategy, program design, nonprofit engagement, participation tracking, and alignment with enterprise volunteer priorities.
  • Prepare materials and briefings to support senior leader and Board‑level engagement related to regional philanthropy, risk considerations, and impact outcomes.
  • Manage and develop a team of four in‑country CSR professionals and an operations team of five, setting clear priorities and expectations and ensuring consistent execution across markets.
  • Drive a culture of accountability and inclusion through effective performance management, recognition, and collaboration across a matrixed environment.
  • Monitor community needs, portfolio performance, and impact data to inform strategy and continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrate a strong risk and compliance mindset and adhere to all applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Exercise sound judgment and cultural fluency when engaging Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) leaders.
  • Build trust and influence across corporate functions and geographies, often without direct authority.
  • Demonstrate executive presence and sound judgment, credibly challenging peers and partners when needed, and providing trusted counsel to senior leaders.
  • Nurture a high-performing team through ongoing coaching, feedback, and career development support, including regular 1:1s, goal setting, and development planning for team members.
  • Apply rigorous analytical and strategic thinking to evaluate philanthropic investments, synthesize complex issues, and deliver clear, decision‑ready recommendations that inform enterprise priorities.
  • Advance innovative, collaborative solutions for social change, integrating community insight, data, and business context to enhance brand strength and mitigate community‑related risk.
  • Travel up to 20%, including international travel, as required.


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Community Impact or Sustainability experience, demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
