HR Data Management Director

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Management Director to lead the HR Data Management Oversight function within the HR Data organization. This role is accountable for establishing and running a scalable data management operating model for Human Resources data, ensuring clear ownership, strong governance, and alignment to enterprise data standards.

The HR Data Business Data Leader will partner closely with HR Product, HR Technology, Enterprise Data Management, Risk, and Control functions to ensure HR data is well‑defined, governed, protected, and fit for enterprise use. This leader will oversee data management strategy, execution, and talent while enabling HR Data to scale responsibly as the domain expands. It all begins with you! In this role, you will:

  • Lead and scale the HR Data Domain function, including data ownership, stewardship, metadata, quality, and lifecycle management.
  • Establish and maintain the HR Data governance frameworks, operating rhythms, and decision forums aligned to enterprise data policies and standards.
  • Partner with HR Product, HR Technology, Enterprise Data, Risk, and Control teams to ensure compliant, secure, and reusable HR data assets.
  • Drive clarity on data domains, critical data elements, authoritative sources, and handoffs across the HR ecosystem.
  • Manage and develop data management leaders and practitioners, setting clear expectations, priorities, and performance outcomes.
  • Anticipate and mitigate data risk, quality, and scalability challenges as HR Data expands its product and reporting footprint.
  • Represent HR Data in enterprise data forums, influencing standards, priorities, and roadmaps.
  • Translate strategy into execution through clear planning, dependency management, and measurable outcomes.


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Data Management, Business Research, Analytics, or Project Management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience establishing or running data governance or data management operating models at scale.
  • Proven ability to influence across organizational boundaries and partner with senior stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of banking enterprise data policy and frameworks, including data ownership, stewardship, quality, metadata, and controls.
  • Experience supporting Human Resources, People Data, or regulated enterprise data domains.
  • Experience operating in matrixed, large‑scale organizations.
  • Strong executive communication and decision‑facilitation skills.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$185,000.00 - $300,000.00
