About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Data Product Management Consultant - Product Owner within the Chief Operating Office – Data, Analytics, and Reporting (COO–DAR). The Data Product organization is responsible for driving disciplined product execution across a modern, agile delivery model. The Product Owner serves as the primary link between business priorities and technology delivery, translating strategic objectives into a well-defined, prioritized backlog of features and user stories, while ensuring alignment to product vision and measurable outcomes.

The position leads integrated agile execution—facilitating ceremonies, maintaining backlog health, and partnering closely with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure work is clearly defined, sequenced, and delivered with quality. The role also drives forward product planning, manages roadmap dependencies, and maintains strong governance through effective control execution, delivery health metrics, and transparent reporting to support regular business reviews and leadership decision-making.


In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence strategies, objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex data platforms and utilities across multiple groups and functions.

  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique data product enablement initiatives and challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas of the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and guidance to others, while adhering to set data governance and standards.

  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant data product solutions that are large-scale cross-functional or companywide strategies.

  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise to ensure data product solutions are built for optimal performance and design analytics. applications across multiple platforms and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

  • Provide expert input on new use case intake, prioritization, product roadmap definition, and other critical business processes.

  • Create and maintain highly complex data product roadmaps throughout the data product lifecycle with detailed specifications, requirements, and flows for data capabilities.

  • Design and maintain innovative data products, enabling data availability for data intelligence, analytics, and reporting.

  • Serve as a strategic liaison between data management, product teams, data engineering, and architecture teams throughout the data product lifecycle.


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of data product or data management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

Product Leadership & Strategic Influence:

  • 7+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, or Data Product leadership roles within agile environments.

  • Proven ability to translate advanced analytics and complex data insights into business strategy and measurable outcomes.

  • Experience creating and executing multi-quarter product roadmaps aligned to enterprise objectives.

Advanced Data & Technical Expertise:

  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and modern data platforms (e.g., GCP or equivalent cloud ecosystems).

  • Deep understanding of data platforms, data engineering concepts, analytics workflows, and API-driven architectures.

  • Familiarity with data quality, metadata management, and data lineage tools and best practices.

Backlog Ownership & Agile Execution Excellence:

  • Expertise in translating business needs into well-defined epics, features, and user stories within Jira, ensuring full traceability.

  • Proven experience leading backlog refinement, grooming sessions, and sprint execution routines.

  • Mastery in prioritizing work based on value, risk, dependencies, and technical constraints.

Data Quality, Controls & Governance:

  • Strong track record of identifying data quality issues, conducting root cause analysis, and delivering sustainable remediation solutions.

  • Experience designing and managing hybrid control environments, balancing standardized governance with domain-specific controls.

  • Ability to maintain audit-ready product artifacts, documentation, and delivery traceability in regulated environments.

Roadmap, Delivery & Dependency Management:

  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain detailed product delivery roadmaps, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.

  • Proven success managing cross-team dependencies, delivery risks, and execution timelines.

  • Skilled at proactively escalating blockers and maintaining delivery momentum.

Stakeholder Leadership & Executive Communication:

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across business and technology teams.

  • Strong executive communication and storytelling capabilities, including developing clear, concise, and impactful content.

  • Experience partnering closely with engineering, architecture, risk, and business leaders to manage expectations and delivery progress.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Advanced analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data insights to drive prioritization, product decisions, and performance optimization.

  • Experience defining and tracking product success metrics, KPIs, and delivery health indicators.

Agile Delivery Leadership:

  • Hands-on leadership of agile ceremonies (Big Room Planning, Sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, retrospectives).

  • Ensures continuous backlog readiness and execution discipline across teams.

Job Expectations:

  • This position is NOT eligible for Visa sponsorship.

  • Ability to work on site per Wells Fargo's standard operating model in the listed location (hybrid schedule – 3 days on-site & 2 remote)

  • The ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$159,000.00 - $279,000.00
