About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a lead software engineer


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Expertise in automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Powershell
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • experience designing and deploying Agentic (Autonomous and MultiAgent Systems) AI/ML models in production environments
  • Machine Learning Algorithms, Techniques, and frameworks (Ex: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
  • Proficiency in implementing solutions by using Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Anomaly detection algorithms
  • Expertise in Data Preprocessing, feature Engineering and Data Manipulation
  • Ability to stay current with the latest advancements in AI/ML and integrate cutting-edge techniques into projects
  • Strong Python experience with APIs, distributed systems and cloud platforms. 
  • Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Open SDKs, etc.,)
  • Experience in prompt engineering, RAG architecture and tool-use patterns
  • Experience building multi-agent systems
  • Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, etc.,)
  • Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Develop batch and real-time data processing workflows 
  • Implement data validation, monitoring and lineage tracking
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases


Job Expectations:

  • Lead AI & ML Automation Initiatives:
    • Design and Implement Agentic AI and Machine Learning models to automate complex business processes, improve operational efficiency and drive innovation
    • Data Pipeline Engineering: Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion and transformation
    • Programming & Querying: Strong hands-on expertise in SQL and Python for data processing and automation
    • Data Architecture & Modeling: Ability to design efficient data models and optimize data storage/processing
  • Lead Automation Projects:
    • Design, develop, and implement automation frameworks and tools for various applications and systems.  Create and execute strategies for integrating AI & ML solutions into existing automation frameworks, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineering teams, ensuring best practices and high-quality code and apply findings to develop state-of-the-art automation solutions.
    • Strategy Development: Develop and execute automation strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver automated solutions.
  • Mentoring:
    • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning, lead cross-functional teams in the development and deployment of AI driven automation projects.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of automation solutions.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex automation issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Documentation:
    • Create and maintain detailed documentation for automation processes, tools, and best practices.
