About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Reconciliation) within the Shared Services Technology organization on the Reconciliation Technology team. This role is responsible for designing and building high-throughput reconciliation engines, data pipelines, and lifecycle processing frameworks. . This is an exciting opportunity to join the team driving reconciliation platform modernization for global Capital Markets and Banking operations.

We are looking for a lead engineer with strong expertise in FIS IntelliMatch and enterprise application engineering to support next‑generation reconciliation solutions across cash, Securities, and trade reconciliations. This role is part of the broader automation, cloud, and Generative AI transformation journey, focused on improving data accuracy, scalability, and operational efficiency.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of reconciliation platforms and enterprise applications

  • Act as a key SME in reconciliations and a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions in reconciliations.

  • Review business requirements into IntelliMatch configurations, including Matching rules, tolerance thresholds and exception workflows.

  • Design, build, and enhance reconciliations using FIS IntelliMatch and Frontier

  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors

  • Lead efforts to modernize legacy systems into cloud-native microservices architectures

  • Ensure compliance with risk, regulatory, and audit requirements

  • Work on Agentic AI and automation to reconciliation workflows

  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 5+ years of full stack development experience (.NET, Java, REACT JS, microservices, etc)

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with reconciliation tools (FIS IntelliMatch, Trintech Frontier, or similar)

  • 3+ years of experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata etc) including query optimization

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with IntelliMatch or Frontier data model, matching engine, and reconciliation workflows

  • Experience working with financial services or banking applications

  • Knowledge of reconciliation processes across cash, securities, and financial transactions

  • Experience transforming legacy/monolith platforms to microservices-based architectures

  • Strong understanding of cloud-native design and 12-factor application principles

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift (OCP), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, UCD)

  • Hands-on experience with SSIS (ETL) and SSRS (reporting)

  • Familiarity with GenAI, Agentic AI, and prompt engineering

  • Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization

  • Experience in testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, Cucumber)

  • Familiarity with financial data pipelines, reconciliation data flows, and regulatory reporting

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact environment

  • Agile experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field


Job Expectations:

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
