About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Application Secure Data Exchange (ASDE) team within Digital Technology & Innovation.

ASDE is a strategic platform responsible for enabling secure, customer-authorized data sharing across internal and external applications. The platform plays a critical role in consent management, API security, customer data transparency, and enterprise modernization initiatives supporting millions of customer interactions.

In this role, you will design, develop, and support scalable APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions that power secure data exchange capabilities across the enterprise. You will partner closely with product owners, architects, security teams, and engineering organizations to build reliable, high-performing platforms while driving innovation through automation, DevSecOps practices, and GenAI-enabled engineering tools.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments

  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments

  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures

  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals

  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.

  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting secure REST APIs and distributed systems.

  • 3+ years of experience implementing secure customer-authorized data sharing solutions using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, API security standards, and enterprise authorization frameworks.

  • 2+ years of experience working with consent management, customer authorization, data governance, customer-permissioned data access platforms, or Financial Data Exchange (FDX) standards.

  • 2+ years of experience working with API management platforms such as Apigee and enterprise API security controls.

  • 2+ years of experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies.

  • 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks using BDD methodologies, Karate, Junit and Playwright.

  • 2+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube, or related technologies.

  • 2+ years of experience supporting production-critical applications, including troubleshooting, incident resolution, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and operational support.

  • Experience participating in requirements analysis, solution design, technical documentation, and end-to-end delivery of enterprise applications within Agile environments.

  • Experience working on large-scale platform modernization initiatives involving secure data exchange, customer transparency, consent management, or third-party data-sharing integrations.

  • 1+ years of experience working with containerized platforms such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or cloud-native deployment models


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in banking, fintech, secure data exchange, or consent management platforms

  • Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, API security, and authentication/authorization frameworks

  • Experience implementing or supporting FDX-based data sharing, consent management, and customer authorization workflows

  • Experience with Kafka, event-driven architectures, or asynchronous messaging patterns

  • Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, or cloud-based platform technologies

  • Exposure to GenAI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Devin, Claude Code, or related engineering productivity solutions

  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps practices, vulnerability remediation, and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Experience working across software development, quality engineering, and production support functions

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills


Job Expectations:

  • Must be based in one of the above locations or willing to relocate at your own expense.

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

  • This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule, 3 days onsite.

  • This position will require onsite presence in a hybrid arrangement
