Communications Director, Finance, Enterprise Strategy & Payments

About this role:

This position will lead a team delivering internal, external, and executive communications for the Finance organization, Enterprise Strategy, and the two payments businesses that are overseen by the CFO (Merchant Services and Global Payments & Liquidity). This position will drive communications that advance financial performance, strategy execution, and payments growth across global audiences. This position will partner with the CFO and senior leaders to translate complex priorities into clear, consistent narratives for employees, media, and investors. This position will protect and enhance reputation through integrated planning, disciplined messaging, and effective issues management. This position will be based in New York, NY and offers a hybrid work schedule.


In this role, you will:

  • Advise the CFO and senior leaders on communications aligned to business strategy, risk, and performance

  • Lead integrated communications for earnings, financial updates, and payments product launches

  • Translate complex financial and strategic topics into clear messaging for key stakeholder groups

  • Direct internal programs including town halls, newsletters, and executive communications

  • Manage media relations and serve as spokesperson for high impact announcements and inquiries

  • Develop executive materials including speeches, briefing documents, and leadership platforms

  • Align messaging with Investor Relations, Legal, and Corporate Communications partners

  • Lead issues management and crisis response to mitigate risk and protect brand reputation

  • Manage and coach a small team of geographically dispersed communicators 


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Public Relations, Media Relations or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

  • Experience leading financial communications at a public company, including earnings and investor relations


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience developing communications strategies and plans for financial services companies

  • Experience advising executives on media strategy and reputational risk

  • Experience preparing executives for interviews, earnings calls, and speaking engagements

  • Experience translating financial data and strategy into clear enterprise narratives

  • Experience leading high-performing geographically dispersed teams within a matrix organization

  • Experience leading global announcements across multiple channels and audience segments


Office Location & Pay Range:

  • 150 East 42nd Street - New York, NY ($185,000 to $300,000)

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$185,000.00 - $300,000.00
