About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Director, Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management Senior Manager, to serve as a Team Leader on the GSE/Agency team, specifically focusing on the more complex and/or high touch Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans in the GSE portfolio.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team of Asset Managers to manage the daily workflow of the assigned portfolio

  • Attract, develop and retain workforce of talented employees and maintain succession planning

  • Work closely with peers to drive efficiency, bring consistency across the footprint, and lead a team with primary responsibility for risk underwriting, monitoring, documenting and reacting to the credit quality of an assigned portfolio of clients with loans and other forms of risk exposure

  • Ensure group's compliance with all legal, regulatory and internal policies and requirements Serve as subject matter expert and sounding board for underwriting strategies, deal positioning and relationship management strategies

  • Manage investor reporting requirements and deadlines while ensuring compliance with investor guidelines and internal risk management practices.

  • Provide leadership and oversight to ensure adherence to internal credit, risk, and control policies, promoting sound risk management practices across the asset management function.

  • Lead the team's execution of asset management activities in accordance with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac servicing requirements, loan agreements, investor guidelines, and related communications to ensure compliance and portfolio performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of commercial real estate (CRE), portfolio management, asset management, or credit risk management experience, including agency-financed multifamily portfolios.

  • 3+ years of people leadership experience with a proven ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing teams.

  • Experience managing or supporting GSE portfolios (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) with knowledge of investor servicing requirements, asset management practices, and regulatory expectations.

  • Demonstrated expertise in risk ratings, credit risk assessment, portfolio monitoring, and risk mitigation, with the ability to identify and manage borrower, property, and market-related risks.

  • Experience reviewing and interpreting commercial real estate loan documentation and third-party due diligence reports, including appraisals, physical needs assessments (PNAs), and environmental reports, to identify risks and support portfolio management decisions.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Regulatory Risk and Compliance policies and programs

  • Due diligence, underwriting, structuring, and pricing experience

  • Ability to motivate a team and lead strategic initiatives, collaborating across a large organization and

  • multi-tasking as required

  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business

  • partnerships with all levels of team members

  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to

  • accomplish business goals

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel as needed

  • Willingness to work on-site in accordance with current office requirements

  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
